  1. Sweet a leadoff double with the heart of the order due up, surely things will turn out well for the Cubs
  2. Shocker we're losing. Hopefully this ends differently than the last 17 times we trailed in a game.
  3. of course a ball likely headed through the middle is deflected by the pitcher saving a run and Dansby grounds out on the next pitch to end the inning
  4. As my 9 year old would say 'womp womp'
  5. Apparently the Brewers are pushing Peralta to the Cubs series and using a bullpen game vs the Reds. This is a double whammy for the Cubs, 1) giving the Reds an easier game to potentially win in the Brewers series (though lol at the thought of the Brewers losing a baseball game) and 2) pitting Peralta vs the Cubs when he was scheduled to miss the series (though the Cubs handled him pretty well last time). On the positive side, a bullpen game the day before a doubleheader vs the Cubs seems like a good thing.
  6. I think im gonna stop watching for a week or two to see if things get better. this is ridiculous
  7. runner on 3rd and 0 outs. Guaranteed to either tie it or piss us the hell off
  8. leadoff double...but now the top of the order is due up vs a lefty
  9. Cubs have scored more than 6 runs in a game twice in our last 27 games so that would be a nice surprise
  10. I saw the Cubs are 29th in baseball in runs scored since July 1st. That tracks if true (too lazy to verify)
  11. 6 outs away from losing 6 of our last 8 series
  12. Since Scherzer is dominating us right now, I'm going to think back to the time he came in during Game 5 of the 2017 NLDS, the Nats fans were all acting like the Cubs were screwed, and the Cubs put up like 4 runs on him en route to winning.
  13. Noticed that too...very odd interesting, I didnt go beyond this year to see if he was consistently better vs lefties because when I saw 2025 I assumed that's why we got him. Good stuff, makes a lot more sense now that he's giving guys days off against both righties and lefties.
  14. game starts at 2:07. Tune in at 2:09 to find 2 outs and 2 strikes already
  15. I'm going with "into the second quarter". Then he'll either play 1 series in the 3rd game or not at all.
