  1. Boog and JD sound very bored despite it being a 1 run game in the 9th
  2. If for some reason the Orioles tie and take the lead, do they keep Rogers out for another inning? I mean like he's cruising lol
  3. Well at least we have Palencia against the middle of the order in the 9th. What a weird game.
  4. Rough when a pitcher briefly struggling with command doesn't get a strike call when the ball is completely within the strike zone with space to spare
  5. Some of these ABs *coughDansbycough* are a brutal watch. I guess we're gonna try to win 1-0?
  6. Maybe its just because the orange stands out but it always seems like there are a lot of Orioles fans when they come to Wrigley.
  7. I mean yes they will absolutely improve the team for the regular season and to some degree the playoffs but I'm not sure I'm super confident when one of those guys is starting Game 3 or 4 of a playoff series. It might work, but it was one of the few areas the Cubs could have improved their October chances. Maybe by a couple of percentage points but no team is going to change their fortunes more drastically than that at the deadline. (I think?)
  8. This is one of those things where I'm thinking "so what pay that price" but I know I'd be ranting and ripping Jed for trading Caissie, Alcantara, Wiggins and Wicks (or something) for Joe Ryan.
  9. 50/50? I mean I guess you could make the argument that the Cubs all those OF MLB ready prospects to use as trade bait after Tucker hopefully signs. But seems like they are giving themselves options in case they aren't able to reach his asking price (also possibly an option to replace Seiya after next season)
  10. I was gonna say something like this but his point doesn’t necessarily have to imply that the Cubs have played bad. They’re just in a division with a team who has performed very very well. If the deadline was supposed to help us get on par with a team that has been 7.5 games better than us in the standings over the last 2+ months then it’s debatable. Of course all the games matter and if we count all of them were just 1 game worse. Maybe we did improve by a couple games over the deadline, who knows.
  11. You say 3 games over since June 1st like it’s bad (and it’s actually 4 games over, 27-23 with a +20 RD). Thats an 87-75 pace. Almost every team has down stretches over the course of the season. If the Cubs down stretches is playing at an 87 win pace, that’s not really a bad thing at all.
  12. We went from “Pressly has actually been good since the game he gave up 8 ER without recording an out” to “Pressly has been DFAd” very quickly.
  13. Alternate title was going to be: Neris Part 2: Astros Boogaloo
  14. Boog: And it looks like Craig is coming out to get Rea after allowing the first 3 men to reach. Thank you for your time Jed! Top 4, 8-3 Reds, we’ll be back.
  15. Man to think I told all the people I thought were freaking out about not making a move earlier today to chill out and that this version of Jed was not going to ignore a gaping hole on the roster.
  16. So what we learned and/or my thoughts (my assumptions could be wrong): -We’re not feeling great about keeping Tucker beyond this year -Jed is unwilling to overpay to make moves to shore up a gaping hole on an otherwise strong even in a year when one of their best players is set to walk after the years -The Cubs really believe in their pitching infrastructure to fix the guys they do have, and expect Taillon and Assad to be a big boost to rotation -Comfortable with a Shota, Boyd, Horton, Taillon playoff rotation -Beyond horsefeathered if either Shota and Boyd go down -Be wary about hoping our GM is aggressive in going for it in the future -Castro was a really helpful move for the offense
  17. Triantos scratched and no news on Ryan are all we have left lol
  18. James Triantos was a late scratch I think....Castro return or something else?
  19. Feel like they would have worked something out when they got Castro if the Cubs were in it but maybe not:
  20. "All-Star" that played 158 games and had a 1.6 bWAR lol Not dogging on the move, just funny that he made the ASG
