    I know what everyone is going to answer but if you could choose between the outcome we had: won the World Series, team competed for a couple more years but never quite approached 2016 dominance, team did everything to make you hate them off the field, team progressively got worse including the young WS winning heroes, farm system not particularly great, team looking likely to go through another massive rebuild 5 years later Or No guarantee of a World Series but Cubs are basically what the Dodgers are right now, seemingly endless pocketbook, continual pipeline of top talent, good young players that continue to improve I wouldn’t take back the WS in hand even though I probably would have more consistent enjoyment with the second option. I can’t stress how much I’ll always be a Cubs fan but I hate this franchise lol

    Leadoff walk, Javy swings through 3 fastballs in the strike zone, Heyward gets a great pitch to hit on 2-0 and pops it up.

    The Pirates went 0-3 with a -22 RD against the Reds but are on track to be 3-3 with a +3 RD against the Cubs. Yuck Early season SSS but still

    Could have been Yu starting tonight. But at least I can travel to Arizona, climb some fences and sneak a peak at 4 teenagers

    So coming into today the Cubs had 19 runs scored on 21 hits in their first 6 games. They finally have a game where they've gotten a ton of hits (10!) and its resulted in...3 runs Which on the surface is below average but not highly unusual, but just funny given how the rest of the season has gone.

    I’m not going to overreact to a weeks worth of games or anything but it’s not like 2016 or 2017 where we knew the Cubs were an amazing team and they’d get it together. I don’t think this team will be terrible (unless they are sellers in July) and there are some promising signs like the pitching overall but no lock that they will end up being good

    And gave up a legit hit, Happ hit that ball pretty hard. Right into the shift, but it somehow found a hole. BABIP luck is starting to turn!

    Just for fun (or not fun), the Cubs are 39-300 (.129 BA) over their last 10 games played at Wrigley Field and have scored 20 total runs in those 10 games. This includes: -The final home series of 2020 against the Twins (12-91 .132, 2 runs) -The NLWC Sweep by the Marlins (9-62 .145, 1 run) -The 6 (or 5.4) games to start this season (18-147 .121, 17 runs)
