  1. Not really. The trade wasn’t done for this year. Even knowing Zach’s ankle was going to get worse as he tried to play through it, AK would still make that trade 10/10 times I’d imagine. Maybe they get lucky and hop into the top 4 if they miss the playoffs? That would obviously be the ideal scenario. More likely they pick somewhere around 8-9, and in that case I’d still rather have Vuc moving forward. Side note I was thinking about which 100% won’t happen...but if you decided you made the wrong move and wanted to trade Vuc before the draft, the odds are pretty high you’d be able to get a top 5 pick. So you could essentially trade this years 8/9 overall pick plus the 2023 FRP for a top 5 pick this year. I’d do that deal being that it’s a 5 player draft. You really think you could get a top 5 pick for Vucevic? 5 worst records in basketball are Minnesota, Houston, Detroit, Orlando, Cleveland. Which one of them is in position to trade their pick for a 31 year old center? I don't disagree he has value but if Vuc is trading its to a team that is farther along in their rebuild process.
  2. Does anything positive ever happen to this team?
  3. For just a rando 32 year old 1B, $14m a year with a 5 year commitment seems like a reasonable starting offer doesn’t it? Or am I way off? Looking at some recent contracts Lamahieu just signed 6/90 at age 32, Ozuna at 30 with 4/65. If they started Rizzo at 5/70 and settled at 5/85 that’s not terrible for either side is it? Or am I an horsefeathers for lowballing tinyface?
  4. This is pretty crazy: His next school will be his FOURTH college. 2017 with Miami Ohio, then sat a year, 2019 with Oklahoma State, then sat a year, 2021 with Texas Southern, now a Grad Transfer so he'll play immediately somewhere. He'd be 25 when next season ends.
  5. Can't decide if I like the hire or not. Leaning towards "not" considering his 63 years old, but I'll give him a shot. Gotta stop with these 6 year deals though. I dont understand the Thad Matta thing though It reads like Woodson at his age wants to get his alma mater on the right track, and then hope Matta can clear up whatever medical issues he has and take over? If thats not the case then it seems like Matta will be breathing down Woodson's back given the failed pursuit of Matta last week.
  6. Cubs Twitter is going crazy and trying to make #extendRizzo trending
  7. It sucks for Anthony since he took such a team friendly deal and is now looking for a fair market contract. But at the end of the day he agreed to the deal and he had his reasons for doing so. While you'd hope the organization you've spent nearly the entirety of your career with would reward you for being such a great representative of the organization, they are under no obligation to pay for past performance. That said, the Cubs aren't likely to find a better option the next 3-4 years so I don't mind ponying up more than he may be worth to keep the face of the franchise.
  8. They are who everyone thought they were, and the schedule caught up. Yeah it looked and felt unsustainable as it was happening. Was hoping they built up enough of a cushion and good vibes to hang on for a playoff spot but they just arent good enough imo.
  9. Good news is we can still tank for a top 4 pick
  10. Damn, that leaves PG and big man depth as 2 areas of weakness for the Bulls. We can get by with Sato and Coby for this season and still make the playoffs I think but we'll see. I mean after the top 3 seeds it's wide open in the East. I'm an NBA idiot, but how is this team not at least playing playoff basketball? And it sounds like they'll have some cap space. Not necessarily max cap space, but that can always be engineered if the opportunity arises. You never know how pieces will mesh together. Bulls are starting the day 1.5 games out of a playoff spot and there are a couple other teams currently out of the playoff picture that I'd think will make a run to be in a position to make the playoffs (Indiana and Toronto now that they kept Lowry). Of course there are a couple of teams in the playoff picture that may slide out (Hornets, maybe Hawks?). The Bulls probably will make the playoffs, I just dont think its given.
  11. And it happened. DAMMIT
  12. Why are you doing this to me? I've been waiting for a Michigan player to play for the Bulls since Jamal Crawford left.

  14. Okay I'm so NBA dumb, I don't even know who those Wizards guys are. Eta: Nevermind I remember who Wagner is at least. I dont know much about Troy Brown in the NBA but I remember him being a highly regarded 5 star prospect that went to Oregon and was drafted mid-first round a few years ago.
  15. MOE TO THE BULLS, this is a dream come true for me
  16. I also just read that the pick this year is top 4 protected, so this prevents us from really getting burned if the Bulls cant make the playoffs
  17. uhh bulls also gave up 2 first round picks in the deal. I mean I guess thats the price to pay for a 30 year old all star. Just seems strange after years of GarPax to make such a bold move involving precious draft picks
  18. How does NSBB feel about this trade? I don't follow the NBA that close these days. Vucevic is an all star. Carter recently fell out of favor with the Bulls and if you look at on/off court statistics, the bulls were much worse with him on the floor, though he is young enough to still have potential. Porter is always injured and when he's not injured its only a matter of time. And he's a FA after the season. I like it on first glance
  19. You’re welcome Big Ten Don’t read any of my posts where I lacked confidence in this one. Man I love college basketball. Baseball will always be number 1 for me but CBB has creeped up quite a bit over the years
  20. The Bevo Conference is in danger of getting only Baylor into the Sweet 16 after being hyped as a dominant basketball conference all season. Thinking about it, Iowa and Illinois, MSU and to some degree Wisconsin were highly touted as title contenders going into the season with teams like Ohio State, Rutgers and Michigan being fringe Top 25 teams. Michigan and Ohio State starting rising in rankings once they started beating up Big Ten teams and due to the perceived strength of the Big Ten were talked about as elite teams. Iowa struggled during points of the season but the refrain was that they were bound to drop games in the big bad Big Ten. Illinois struggled early in conference season and stayed top 15ish for the same reason. It took Wisconsin losing 5 of 6 games and 8 of 12 games to finally drop out of the top 25, and same for MSU. Purdue is another example of a team unexpectedly rising in the rankings as they started beating Big Ten teams. Similar situation with the Big 12. Kansas had to suck for like 3 weeks to drop out of the Top 25 and jumped right back in once they showed signs of life. Oklahoma came from nowhere to be ranked in Top 10, then started losing a ton of games while remaining in the rankings Now this is a very simplistic way to look at it and advanced stats backed up the perception that the Big Ten (and Big 12) were very good conferences. So i dont think both conferences were secretly garbage but who knows.
  21. Big Ten really isnt going to get any teams in the Sweet 16 are they? Obviously Michigan can but the way things are trending its not looking good
  22. As I’ve been saying all yeas, Rutgers is the true National Title contender in the Big Ten
  23. Tough game but great season for Illini, all friction aside. We are 1.5 games into the second round and the mighty Big Ten is down to Michigan, Iowa, Maryland and Rutgers assuming Wisconsin is done. Have a bad feeling about facing LSU tomorrow, Iowa is in Gonzaga’s bracket and Maryland/Rutgers are 10 seeds with limited upside. Time to be ridiculed
