  1. Oh so they aren’t spacing out the games, they are just shifting it by 1-2 days each round
  2. Forgot about the games extending into the next week. That kind of sucks...nothing like following 3 exciting down to the wire games at the same time that first weekend. Whats the first step?
  3. bukie its that time of year. tell me its coming...even with our meager small board, I look forward to the board's bracket.
  4. Not a whisper. They lost with literally less than a tenth left in OT to the Lightning but looked perfectly competitive with them all game. I'll take that point. That was brutal. I thought there was no way they had enough time left to score in those final seconds.
  5. They announced that they would not be airing road games for health and safety reasons. Not sure why they cant use the visitor's feed and call the games from Sloan Park like they've done in the past, but I think that first game was not aired locally by SD so it may be why the game wasn't on, and of course yesterday was a national broadcast so no need to air on Marquee.
  6. I saw this a few minutes ago: The guy is a verified user, but is listed as an "independent NFL reporter" or something. I actually think there is a decent chance they trade him and if they do the Bears are going to be the most aggressive of those 4 teams despite the pointed out shortcomings of a Bears offer.
  7. Right? I'm sure there was some logic behind it but Juwan has been lauded all year for gameplanning and in game adjustments. It was clear from the start that the gameplan was a giant flop and not just due to poor execution. It's crazy though how similar the Illini and Michigan play. Very similar defensive strategies, what they are generally trying to do on offense is similar too. Illinois just did it 1000x better than UM last night. Still SMH, though I like the Illini so its great to see them rise up as a program. Should be a nice little rivalry between these 2 teams the next few years. Next year MIchigan will have a 5 star coming in at center when Dickinson gets into foul trouble so that will be nice
  8. Curbelo is the x-factor, Michigan doesn't have anyone who can stay with him, in a rematch I would expect a far better game from Livers, et. al. Just didn't see anyone who's going to keep Curbelo from getting to hoop, scoring or dishing. Man it's been a long, long, time since the Illini had the player no one has an answer for and it feels good. I gave it a rest for a while after the Illini got pushed around and out-hustled by Ohio State in January, didn't think this was going to happen. Underwood couldn't get a solid 40 minutes out of these guys however, now, appears he's starting to get some consistent effort . The feedback I'm seeing on Michigan sites (trying to justify how a team that has looked unbeatable the last month just got curbstomped at home) is that Curbelo is a limited shooter but Michigan defense was going over on screens and staying in his face allowing him to blow by defenders and get to the basket. It would be interesting to see if some defensive adjustments change things in a future matchup. Don't get me wrong, Illinois is talented and will give Michigan matchup issues regardless of adjustments but that seems like one obvious adjustment that may help.
  9. All year Michigan has played such fluid offense and outworked teams particularly on the boards. In this game they were playing iso ball on offense and getting vastly outworked. It was one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen. A Murphy’s law type of game for Michigan. Don’t get me wrong I give Illinois a ton of credit for the performance. But Michigan is not that bad at all. It was like watching a complete inverse of the team I’ve watched all year. Like my head is still spinning wondering how that just happened. But Underwood seems to know how to coach against Michigan and is unbelievable at getting his team motivated. I expected this to be a really tough game even without Ayo just due to Illinois having that chip on their shoulder and they did not disappoint. I’d like to see this game again next weekend (I think?)
  10. I have not seen Michigan look this terrible all year (didn’t watch the Minnesota game). Impressive performance so far for the Illini without Ayo. Hopefully Michigan can make this a game
  11. Yeah I just wonder why we made the list. Can't feel overly confident with the offensive staff, or the offensive weapons unless ARob comes back. HC and GM are on the hot seat. He did go to Wisconsin for a year but is from Virginia and doesn't have ties to the area. Maybe I'm just being overly pessimistic about what the Bears have. Not like the Raiders have a better situation unless he wants to play for Gruden and/or play in a climate controlled stadium.
  12. I think if GarPax were still in charge they would be without a doubt standing pat to try to squeeze out a playoff appearance. Im thinking AK and crew will take a more long term view and not let some success deviate them from their plans. That doesn't mean they will gut a team that has a lot of positive momentum and seems to be growing with a competent coach but I think if they can get some long term value for a piece that won't necessarily gut the team they will strongly consider it.
  13. Well obviously my first thoughts are toward his health and it sounds like its not life threatening which is great. But from a golf standpoint, this is going to be hard to recover from if the injuries to his legs are as bad as they seem
  14. Our old friend Artemi Panarin is in some trouble with the motherland. Hope everything is ok. I want to believe the allegations are false given the source but also want to take any allegations of this manner seriously.
  15. They're picking us at about 78 wins, so 90+ wins seems a little excessive. I'm not sure anyone else in the NL Central will get to 90+ wins either. I think it's certainly possible. Standard variance combined with the fact that basically any NL Central team that starts slow will quickly transition to seller mode. I think its almost as likely that any team in the Central except for the Pirates could be sitting there at 45-50 and 1.5 games out of 1st or something and with fans (hopefully) back in the stands decide to buy. That team could be the Cubs too of course, #PTR jokes aside.
  16. I’m actually fairly excited for this season. Since the expectations are lower, sucking won’t disappoint me as much and being great will exceed expectations and seem even more enjoyable. Kind of like how last year started with the 13-3 start until we realized that they actually kind of sucked and the offense fell apart for the final 6 weeks
  17. I saw something that said they are 7-1-1 in their last 9, which seems fake but I can't recall them losing very much lately. I think they are 9-2-4 since they started out 0-3. I havent looked at the advanced stats though, so not sure if its a fluky 9-2-4. That said 4 of those wins were against the Wings who are terrible. Either way theyve been fun to watch
  18. Stellar 2019, not so great 2020
  19. Believe he was 6th in QB pressures this year. 85.5 PFF grade. The reason he is available is because Houston was over the cap and terrible. He was almost definitely going to be cut. His body is also breaking down and I’d take the under on 2.5 more seasons out of him. So basically it would be like Jared Allen all over again
  20. I'm guessing he means to say "starting pitcher" ? Jake was the winning pitcher in Game 4 of the 2017 NLCS and the Cubs are 0-4 in playoff games since then
  21. Looks like it was deleted and he replied:
  22. I said earlier in this thread, but for whatever bad moves Pace has made, many fans always acted like some huge draft haul was inevitable, when he hasn't really parted with tons of "high level" assets. And when he did it was for an indisputably awesome player, in Mack. Let's hope he can calibrate this market. When you think about it waiting might be the best approach to lower the price tag for Wentz. The Eagles benched him, have let everyone know they're done with him and if not soon rid of his contract are on the hook for a chunk of change. In some aspects they're desperate, even more so if say, the Colts trade for Carr thereby eliminating another trade partner. Pace has nothing to lose by sitting tight. Agreed. And the fear of loss shouldn't be there for Pace as there are other options that are not really worse than Wentz as they could go after Carr, technically go after Watson, move up in the draft etc. The fear for me was that Pace decided that he had to have Wentz and laser focused on doing anything to acquire him without any consideration of the rest of the QB market. Seems like that is not the case here, so hopefully we can extract a fair cost for one of the available QBs.
  23. He really sucked down the stretch though. Took over possessions that led to chucking up bad shots and then missed a layup with seconds left that would have given the Bulls the lead. It was not a super easy layup but it’s one he should have made or drawn the foul
