  1. Dodgers outscored the Cubs 20-3 in their 3 game series at Wrigley, so that’s something we can aim to beat
  2. It’s probably good that they are going for a full tear down but I’m just going to tune out the Blackhawks for 5-6 years most likely. Doesn’t seem like the NHL is a league you can fast track a rebuild
  3. This is a massive simplification but we basically traded DeBrincat along with other picks for Seth Jones lmao
  4. Third Bears FA signing to get arrested this offseason. What the horsefeathers going on over there lol. I know the Bears FO can't prevent people from getting arrested and not sure if any of the guys had track records of issues with the law but not a great look.
  5. Yes and that's the other thing too....it's not like the Browns had a terrible QB situation. Baker is Baker but clearly injuries had an effect on his play and he actually really liked playing in Cleveland. I get that the Browns had to make a decision on his future contractually but it seems really weird to take such a gigantic risk to get a low character guy like Watson and then extend him instead of bringing back Baker and/or maybe working something out with him for the next few years.
  6. Dammit, why did that Morel blast have to be at the deepest part of the park?
  7. Lets see if the Cubs can manage to hold onto this one. Is PJ Higgins a real thing?
  8. Anyways back to the move. I am trembling with glee waiting for the Watson suspension to come down. Browns might ultimately get some good seasons out of Watson but lets recap what they did: -Gave significant assets to acquire a great QB but one who has 20+ allegations of sexual misconduct, has not played a game in 1.5 years, and is awaiting a massive suspension -Gave that QB a massive extension -Did not have a plan to figure out what to do with their current franchise QB and ended up trading him away for essentially nothing Now Watson is looking at a suspension that will likely continue into the 2023 season. When he plays his first game with Cleveland it will be nearly 3 years since his last game which is roughly the amount of time between games that Vick had after going to jail. The Browns who are otherwise in a win now position are forced to use Jacoby Brissett at QB and are limited in draft assets because of the Watson trade (though I assume Watson's contract will not count against the cap while suspended?). Oh and the QB they gambled their future on is a piece of horsefeathers. I may not believe in karma but sometimes I wonder.
  9. At 100 pitches through 7. I assume they will turn it over to Williams and Hader to finish it off. One more Hader flop would be hilarious though.
  10. He also has a 5.07 ERA in 110 Triple A innings during that time. Very strange.
  11. In other news, the Hawks will be in Colorado when the Avs raise their banner. Also a solid B+ effort in announcing the home schedule:
  12. I didn't see the play but I can only assume this is what happened:
  13. Sorry this becomes the daily chat thread. I saw Henricks was put on the IL today meaning that our IL now consists of Hendricks, Stroman, Miley and Smyly. Imagine if this was a season where fans expected us to compete when our top 4 starters are all injured. On the bright side this has given Steele and Keegan tons of major league innings and given us a chance to evaluate several other starters, though I'm not sure if anyone else has really emerged.
  14. Bote's contract is just as bad as Heyward's. What a dumpster fire. I have no idea why they rushed so quickly to try to extend him. It was like they were trying to tell Bryant, Rizzo, Javy, etc 'hey look we are extending people, you should too'
  15. Good to see the Cubs arent the only team that fails to score in bases loaded, 0 out situations
  16. The rest of the guys picked him up and the Cubs have scored 4 runs
  17. Wow the Cubs do not think highly of Bote at all. What the horsefeathers? For those not watching, runners on 1st and 2nd, 0 outs and Bote up. Ross put on the bunt sign, Bote took 2 strikes. They kept the bunt sign on and he fouled a bunt away for a strikeout
  18. This is freaking hilarious. The city must be desperate to propose a Frankenfield
  19. With a runner on 2nd and 0 outs, you are expected to score 61.1% of the time. The Cubs have scored that runner just 38.9% of the time in extra innings this year and have failed in 10 of their last 11 extra inning innings
  20. I was really hoping Big Ten would grab at least 2 more west coast schools. Looks like Stanford and Cal would be the 2 more likely options at this point. Poor Washington State and Oregon State
  21. Correa talks about the Cubs pursuit a little in an interview/article. If he's being truthful, it may be hard to land him this offseason. Not sure if it means much but it also mentions the Cubs never made a formal offer. Of course that doesn't mean they weren't talking with him Also says this about this offseason:
  22. 3-8. No other team has more than 6 losses. Lol
  23. Cubs lose. What is their record in extras now? Like 2-9?
  24. As I’ve said before. These new extra inning rules were designed to screw a team that has not been able to hit with RISP for the past decade or so
  25. The Committee To Make Me Hate Baseball has decided that half of Cubs games will end in extra innings knowing how much I hate the extra innings rule
