  1. probably just streamed it on their phones right?
  2. How do you go 3-21-1 in an exhibition game against theoretically evenly matched teams? This is Michigan-Ohio State
  3. I love that he confirmed how many outs there were with the broadcast crew mid-play lol
  4. 2008 was my favorite. I think it went 13 innings, Uggla made all those errors, Marmol and Dempster got critical outs, etc. Similar to 2016 we had a very vested interest in the winner (or so we thought at the time)
  5. On one hand the NL is actually winning in the second hand. On the other Goldschmidt hit a HR
  6. I was hoping he wouldn't go to a pro-life event and blab about it. Conservatives made a big stink when he had Colin Kaepernick at their spring game but now they are applauding him.
  7. https://twitter.com/MichiganYankees/status/1549413264802603008 Brennen Davis Cristian Hernandez PCA Kilian Steele/Keegan Morel/Vazquez Is that enough? Probably not
  8. Fields thread. I think he makes some good points. Hopefully his mechanical changes help him be better in the pocket but also hopefully he's allowed to run an offense that better fits his strengths.
  9. Ugh of course Dammit Harbaugh
  10. Every team in this city is run by a bunch of incompetent assholes. I mean pretty much all owners are assholes but some of them are competent. Not in Chicago
  11. ok then, I guess what I saw was ultimately wrong. I don't blame him for leaving after the stuff that happened off the ice plus the beginning of what appears to be a long gut rebuild. Though Seattle is an interesting choice.
  12. Eddie O is leaving the Blackhawks to be the Kraken color guy. From what I saw on Twitter it sounds like the Blackhawks did not renew his contract and that’s why he’s leaving. If so, very strange decision
  13. I'm sort of in the same boat. I mean, I get why people who love baseball would want to watch their favorite team play baseball, especially now when there's literally nothing else going on. But I just can't bring myself to watch. I just have no interest in this team right now. I’m not going to tell anyone how to fan. I mostly tune out the games but if I happen to be doing something else I’ll occasionally have the game on in the background. Sometimes my kids ask me to turn it on. Never a priority and never emotionally invested in it but I’ll miss baseball in the winter so I dont have a problem watching an inning or two here and there.
  14. This feels like too much of a feel good win for it to happen. I expect Robertson to blow it
  15. Ownership is completely on board with the plan for this season, so nobody is going to get fired. Whatever you may think about Ross' in-game managerial skills, firing him would be a bad look. This team clearly has a roster problem more than a manager problem. My bigger concern is that I have zero trust in Hoyer to identify the right players once the team is ready to compete. His misses have been very concerning. I would prefer to move on from him sooner than later, but that simply isn't going to happen. Yeah no one will be fired because the season was ultimately meaningless but the team turning out to be this bad is not a good look. It could ultimately hasten one of their departures if things continue this way for the next 1-2 seasons.
  16. The Yankees havent had a 10+ game losing streak since 1913. The Cubs are 1 game away from doing it 4 times in 2 seasons.
  17. Since the Cubs 6-4 start, they have gone 28-52 which is a 56-106 pace over 162 games. And this is before the selloff.
  18. Cubs have scored 4 runs on this homestand in 4 games
  19. Has any team ever had 4 different 10+ game losing streaks in a 13 month span?
  20. Suckiest bunch of sucks who ever sucked
  21. With the caveat that Juan Soto should absolutely treated differently than any other player in baseball including Trout (due to age), it seems very anti-Jed to trade your top 5 prospects and give out a 10+ year $500m deal for a single player.
  22. Have to admit Road to Wrigley on Marquee is pretty cool. Getting to watch 4 Cubs teams at once that are all infinitely more interesting than the Chicago team
  23. Just for fun...fWAR of Cubs 2021 deadline and offseason acquisitions: Hitters: Villar: -0.7 Simmons: -0.3 Gomes: -0.3 Madrigal: -0.2 Frazier: -0.1 Suzuki: 0.9 Total: -0.7 WAR Pitchers: Stroman: 0.6 Miley: 0.5 Smyly: 0.4 Robertson: 0.5 Martin: 0.5 Givens: 0.1 Chavez: -0.1 Norris: -0.3 Total: 2.2 WAR Combined: 1.5 WAR for roughly $76.8m in 2022 salary Obviously this would be a bit better if our starting pitchers were healthy, but otherwise yikes...
  24. 3 runs scored in 24 innings this homestand so far
