  1. First drive was terrible. Second drive the line is giving fields time to throw and he’s running bootlegs and looking good
  2. I’ve only heard lower back tightness which is not ideal but far from worst case scenario I guess. He’ll probably go on the IL On the topic of Steele: Also he’s starting to get a name for himself. Here are some Brewers fans before the game lamenting having to face him again:
  3. 4 runs on 2 hits is not that bad too. Hopefully we can keep the lead this time
  4. Damn I really wanted a 1 hit win over the Brewers
  5. And Steele leaves the game hurt
  6. Cubs are 9 outs away from being no-hit. Peralta only at 82 pitches too so he may be able to complete it. If the Brewers get the no-hitter they will pull into 2nd for most no-hitters pitched at Miller Park (or whatever it’s called now) behind the Cubs
  7. Ok you can’t blame me for jinxing it 3 innings later
  8. Looking forward to him getting shelled next inning and being shamed
  9. Steele, Rucker, and McKinstry are at the top of my list. I was totally going to say McKinstry and Rucker. Based on them saying 3-4, I'm wondering if one is a fringe roster player.
  10. Goldschmidt is now 1 HR away from leading the NL in BA, HR and RBI. He's 35 years old, and the previous oldest Triple Crown winner was 31. He's 4 full years older, but he's got that Cardinals devil magic in him.
  11. Place your bets now.
  12. After his long outing last week he gave up 3 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks in the 1st inning. Corey Dickerson has now had 9 hits in his last 9 plate appearances.
  13. Here are how the QBs went last year: Keepers (gone before draft): -Brady -Mahomes -Prescott -Burrow -Cousins -Hurts -Tannehill -Tua 1st -Allen -Wilson -Kyler -Lamar -Rodgers -Herbert 2nd -Stafford 4th -Matt Ryan -Winston 5th -Daniel Jones -Mayfield -Wentz 6th -Lance 7th -Watson (lol) 8th -Fitzpatrick 9th -Fields -Carr -Roethlisberger 10th -Mac Jones -Zach Wilson 11th -Darnold -Bridgewater 12th -Goff 13th -Jimmy G 14th -Taysom Hill 15th -Tyrod Taylor 16th -Cam Newton I’m pretty sure at least 2-3 teams had a 3rd QB before some teams got their 2nd but the 25th QB (first one that is guaranteed to be a 3rd QB) was in the 9th (Carr). Every keeper listed there is available this year and everyone non keeper can theoretically be kept. I’m projecting about 8 of them to be kept. Curious what you’re hearing about Fields. Obviously I follow Bears closely but I hear a mixed bag, nothing that would dissuade me either way. I know if I keep Fields it’s a decent gamble but I haven’t see anything to remove the hope that he could end up an average fantasy QB.
  14. It absolutely boggles my mind that a 1st place team can afford to continue playing Yadir Molina as the everyday catcher. His OPS for the season is .498 in 191 PA. He’s complete and utter garbage. I realize that defense is important for a catcher and I have no idea how he’s dating this year at his advanced age but it can’t be enough to offset the complete black hole that is his bat. And he really does play every day just about. Twice in the last 10 days, he started and played both ends of a doubleheader. At age 40. With a sub-500 OPS.
  15. Is this to like soften Giannis up so he doesn't try as hard against us?
  16. Reminds me more of the 2009 Cubs. The 2004 team still won 89 games. 2009 they never got going, despite a garbage division like the WS this year. I can see both comparisons, but the 2004 was built to win and there were big expectations. The 2009 team was a zombie version of the team that won 97 games the year before when the Trib decided to cut payroll. There were expectations but I don't think anyone was too shocked that they were hovering around .500 most of the year. This Sox team was supposedly built to win and while their record closer resembles the 2009 Cubs, the sense of disappointment and dislike of the team is more comparable to 2004 imo.
  17. Yeah its weird to see Milwaukee start and end the season but only 2 other series throughout the year. I don't hate it...sick of playing the reds and pirates a billion times a year but it will take some getting used to.
  18. Just released:
  19. I can only keep them for 1 season. Fields vs. Mooney is tough, especially because they obviously have an effect on each other. QBs are so damn valuable in this league... 16 QBs were gone by the end of the 2nd round last year (including keepers), so if you can grab one of your 2 QBs with a later round keeper, it puts you in good position to have 2 QBs wrapped up quickly and you can focus on getting quality WR/RB while other teams are still trying to grab QBs. For instance 2 years ago I had Lamar as an 8th round keeper and Kyler as a 9th round keeper and was able to grab guys like Davante Adams, AJ Brown, Dalvin Cook, Zeke Elliott and cruise to the championship. It's a gamble obviously with Fields because the Bears fan in me isn't particularly sold on Fields (though hopeful) and realize that it could backfire spectacularly, but if he can get 500 yards rushing and 5 TDs on the ground (had 420 and 2 in 12 games last year) his floor is immediately much higher even if he's a mediocre passer. I am taking your rec on Mooney seriously, I've gotten other similar advice, I just really want to believe in gambling with Fields which will allow me to have strengths everywhere else on the roster. 3000 passing yards, 18 passing TD, 10 INT, 4 fumbles lost, 500 rushing yards, 5 rush TD would put him at QB16 last year. That seems doable for Fields if he actually improves with experience and an offense geared towards his strengths.
  20. Creating a new one for 2022 for reasons. I had a terrible fantasy football year last year, tons of decisions that seemed good on the surface but ended up being the wrong moves. I was 1-8 at the deadline so I sold off a big chunk of my team for draft picks and potential keepers (and then ironically won my next 4 games which put me a win and some help away from making the playoffs and I promptly lost). I need help with keeper decisions. 12 team Superflex (basically 2 QBs) league which gives 6 points for passing TDs, 0.5 PPR and starts 3 RB and 4 WR. I get to keep 2 players and lose my draft pick from the round they were drafted last year. My early draft looks like this: 1st round (3 overall), 1st round (4 overall), 2nd, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 9, 10 My potential keepers: -Javonte Williams (10th round) -Travis Etienne (5th round - sketchily grabbed him at end of season for potential keeper) -Darnell Mooney (12th round) -Justin Fields (9th round) I'm thinking Javonte and Fields as my keepers. Fields is obviously a big gamble but a couple of things but the Bears have a very soft schedule and Fields doesn't have to be a good QB to be a good fantasy QB due to his legs. The teams that win my league typically get lucky by drafting a QB in a later round that turns into a stud (2 years ago I had Kyler and Lamar and dominated my league to win the championship). With 2 high 1st round picks I can take another QB that is a little more established and still grab a top WR. Thoughts? Happy to provide any advice for anyone else as well.
  21. I feel bad because this was definitely the better title, at least going in.
  22. Yikes for him. I feel no sympathy for the Dodgers though, they'll be fine.
  23. There's a 95% chance Yadi homers to tie it here Edit: Nope he's actually just really bad. Now we just have to survive Wick pitching to the top of the Cardinals order. Double Edit: Or Hughes. Wasn't sure if he was now the full time closer
  24. You would be correct. Here are the Cubs results against Wainwright since the start of 2020. 1.52 ERA against the Cubs during that span 6, 2 7, 2 7, 0 8, 0 7, 1 6.1, 2 We lit him up several times in 2019
