  1. He just saw the STH renewal list
  2. The dam is breaking
  3. Jon Lester - the gift that keeps on giving
  4. How about Carllos Correa?
  5. I don't see zips projections but Steamer projection for Frank Schwindel next year: .245/.291/.420 with a .307 wOBA.
  6. Counting on umfan because I'm lazy lol. I think theres a reddit that had it each week? Yeah I don't have PFF, I pull it from the reddit post. I haven't seen one yet this week. I didn't see one last week either so perhaps the dude that is posting them has lost interest. Edit: I just asked them if they could post them as they were just commenting on Fields' grade Alright I got him to post the grades. Have a day N'Keal Harry!
  7. Yep bad news for a team that wants to go 5 maybe 6 years max on premiere FAs. Will be interesting to see if Jed bends on that or stays stubborn to his principles
  8. Unless South Korea overcomes a 2-0 deficit or Morocco beats Spain, it’s looking like the QF will be all European and South American teams. No surprise but I would have loved to have seen another region get a team in there.
  9. First PKs of the tournament. Want Japan to win but not going well for them so far. Edit: OK Japan is a terrible PK shooting team apparently.
  10. can you post a screen shot of them, O and D? or is that UM's territory? Counting on umfan because I'm lazy lol. I think theres a reddit that had it each week? 11. Completely agree. I'm excited about the cap space and high draft pick and all of that but like 90% of the Bears roster is currently marginal NFL talent. They have a lot to fix. You can rebuild quickly in the NFL, but Poles will need to have a very high hit rate IMO to be a contender next year. But its interesting that there's this conflict between Poles taking time to add pieces through the draft and FA and building out the roster to be set for long term success and the ticking clock that is Fields' rookie contract. My guess is that Poles would prefer to be slow and deliberate, but you also have to try to take advantage of an elite QB on a rookie deal because that dude is getting paid eventually.
  12. Reportedly 2 years $86m. The pitching market is insane. I would guess the Cubs plan for a TOR starter will change to either mid-level starter or just dumpster diving but we'll see.
  13. OOF. I'm sorry to hear that. Not sure if you watched that Cowboys game, but they had a scoop and score called back late in the 4th because the person who recovered the fumble was just barely touched by a Colt as he was recovering. I have the Cowboys defense so I was annoyed though I didn't need the score to win.
  14. Just putting this here because it’s the most recent loss: the Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks are a combined 19-40. Detroit sports dealt with this for the last 5-6 years and now we are unless daddy Ricketts opens up the pocketbook
  15. Claypool seemed to start having a connection w/ Fields. He had those back to back catches, including the play he fumbled, before he got hurt. Those were the only 2 plays that weren't designed to go to him just for the sake of using him. His other 3 catches were all screen passes, and all 4 of his other targets were. Speaking of screens, damn this felt like Getsy was really trying to not win this game. Getsy called pass on 6 of the 9 first down plays that Fields lined up at QB (there was a 1st down wildcat play, which why are you running wildcat when your QB is the biggest run threat there is?). It was 16-3 thru that point, and then a kneel down before going to halftime. First drive on the 2nd half- End around, penalty, 2nd and 14 run, 3rd and 5 throw behind the LOS to Claypool, without extreme off coverage nor was it an actual screen play with blockers set up. Just a behind the line, 1-on-1 throw. Second drive of 2nd half- Run, Run, again behind the line pass that's not a screen, QB run (may have been a scramble), 24 yard pass to Kmet on 3rd and long, run, run with Evans, 3rd and long run w/ Evans that works, wildcat formation penalty, 1st and 19 run, 2nd and 24 short pass to Montgomery (essentially designed to work as a run play) Third drive of 2nd half- deep to Harry 49 yards, checkdown to Montgomery for negative yards, 2nd and 12 run, 3rd and 5 run up the middle By the time the Bears get the ball again, they were behind with less than 5 minutes to play. Fields was damn near perfect throwing at that point with just 2 incompletions and at least 3 completions over 20 air yards, so it's not like he was having a bad game or his numbers were being boosted by a bunch of run after catch plays. Completely agree. Some of those play calls were so headscratching that I almost hope that it was him trying to tank.
  16. Since its still 2022... Also, doesnt seem like we'll see any prime steroid guys in anytime soon:
  17. I've watched 2 nearly full USC games this year, against UCLA and against Utah on Friday. In both games they were horrifically bad defensively. Like really bad. So bad that I have to imagine I picked 2 bad games to watch because there's no way a team goes 11-2 with a defense that bad even if their offense is conversely really good. Tons of missed tackles all over the place...all of their players seem to be only focused on ripping the ball away from the ball carrier which leads to several extra yards on every play. I wanted to gouge my eyes out but somehow still kept watching because I really wanted OSU to miss the CFP. Of course the flip side is their offense is spectacular. Caleb Williams was probably the Heisman winner before the game on Friday. He still might be because he was really beat up in that game, limping all over the place. He's a dual threat guy but couldn't run much after getting hurt. When he's healthy they are very dangerous...they might have won on Friday if Williams was 100%
  18. Fwiw this dude loves to talk but this is what he said about that interception Not sure how this will come off but I often wonder about the QBs that get like 4 INTs in a season. Are they so in tune with their WRs tendencies that they know not to throw that pass? I’m not saying this to assign undue blame on Fields. I’m just generally curious about what attributes the top QBs have that allow them to avoid making those types of INTs even if they are the WR’s fault.
  19. I thought I’d care about losing to the Packers but I really don’t at all. Both teams are going nowhere this year but the future is brighter for the Bears. If things go the way we hope they do we’ll take over the rivalry. Of course I would have loved to have shut up that smug 9/11 truther son of a bitch but whatever. Yeah unfortunately, the draft and FA aren't idiot proof, Anderson is an almost guaranteed high impact player, quite probably the best player in the 2023 draft. It's good for the Bears that an apparent QB starved team is drafting ahead of them because he'd most certainly be taken #1. After the #2 pick Poles can still horsefeathers things up with the remainder of the picks and FA, he's got to hit on a good percentage of them, this is worrisome. Will Anderson is exactly what we need (or at least one of the many). I still cant help but hope for a massive trade down for a QB needy team because I think having multiple 1sts for the next couple of years (what I would expect in a trade) and still pick in the top 10 is too good to turn down. But I also won't be devastated if they stick with Anderson, who would completely transform the defense immediately.

  21. I agree. 2 mistakes don’t take away from the many good things he did. He looked decisive throwing, confident in the pocket, didn’t need to run too often, don’t think he was sacked, he was really accurate on deep balls and middle of the field stuff. Pending tape review where there's an obvious better throw, it was like 1.5 mistakes at best. It was an anticipation throw where Jaire made a great defensive read and St Brown did nothing to protect the ball. That’s fair. I did go a bit meatball in the immediate aftermath of both throws, pinning them on fields (though acknowledged he had a great game before that). Clearly ESB screwed Fields over on the first one. I don’t know about the second one, I get he was trying to make something happen in desperation time though.
  22. I’m guessing this is tongue in cheek being former teammates

  24. Another awful interception for Fields. It sucks because 95% of the game was elite. The last 5% shows you where he has to grow
