So we’re gonna get Mastrobuoni leading off with his 2nd PA in 3 weeks. Was Madrigal hurt? Edit: ok so the guy that strikes out 40% of the time is going to hit instead. I’d honestly rather have Mastrobuoni in this situation -

I said this a couple weeks ago I’ve never seen a team get out at home in those situations as much as the Cubs. I understand it’s go on contact and I agree with it but it seems to always burn us

Wow 3 JJ McCarthy INTs, 2 inside the 10 yard line. He had 3 INTs all of last year in the regular season. I guess the rule that I am never allowed to experience rooting for a great QB is still in place

Colorado is on fire. Beating SF 9-3 now. Any loss is helpful but of course it’s the one team we own the tiebreaker over

It depends on how well this cold streak lasts. The way this team has gone they could easily flip a switch and go 8-2 and looking like playoff locks. They are playing bad but baseball teams dont play bad forever. Get through this weekend 1-1, get another off day and then on paper a really easy homestand. I'd rather be in our position than the other teams. Baseball is just a really weird sport, you look terrible one day or for a few days and all of the sudden things click again. Doesn't make sense to make predictions of doom or prosperity. (See this is pre-game rationality before irrational UMFan gets emotionally invested in a game)

I feel bad, the fanbase was pretty hard on him. I don't think I was that hard but I questioned the strangeness of his absences. In reality all the clues were there that there was something going on in his personal life. And yeah Kyle I agree, seems strange that he even played and helps make sense of the poor performance (I hope)

With Candelario on the IL, unless I'm missing someone its either him, Mastrobuoni or Wisdom at 3B. Might as well stick with the guy that is putting up solid defensive numbers, Edit: I guess Morel has played 3B too so maybe he could start there when Seiya is healthy enough to play the field (I'm assuming health is a reason he was moved from RF to DH right before the game last night). But then who is your DH?
