  1. Chance to score runs and chance to run up his PC, got a pitch and hit one hard. That’s all you can do Edit: I guess statcast only had it at 71 mph so I guess not that hard, but it was well enough to be a 2 run single with better location
  2. 93 pitches through 5 and 3-4-5 due up the third time through the order. Does Steele go out for 1 more?
  3. Funny get our 2nd hit and its immediately erased with a GIDP
  4. Needed that relatively low PC inning from Steele. Now there’s at least a chance he can pitch 6 full innings
  5. Geez, he’s toying with the Cubs. Think we can win 1-0? the other crappy thing about the Brewers easy win yesterday is they can have the back of their pen jump in once Burnes is done, which based on his PC is gonna he awhile
  6. That was an awful AB by Morel. Guess his mental break isn’t working as well as Seiya’s
  7. Not sure how with the pitch clock but Burnes is somehow working extremely slow.
  8. Someone said in the general baseball thread that the AL thing isn’t true anymore, just goes by reverse record. Not sure if it’s true but since it’s more beneficial towards the Cubs I’ll choose to believe that.
  9. Not until Thursday right? Burnes and Woodruff might be able to get us a little higher in the priority list, though I’d prefer they didn’t lol
  10. I mentioned this in the other thread. Can Jed convince Tom to go over the lux tax? I'm assuming grabbing any of these players would put us over. Of course its possible Jed himself won't want to cross that threshold as he knows it will limit their moves in future years. But horsefeathers this is like mana from Heaven for the Cubs. Desperate need of some solid starting pitching and a lefthanded reliever and the Angels just dangled them in front of us. Seems too good to be true.
  11. Peterman was cut today and will likely end up on the practice squad as QB3. PJ Walker was cut the other day. I suppose there was still some crazy possibility where the Bears made Peterman the backup and today's news ensures that won't happen. Colt McCoy and Carson Wentz are still out there though. Also I feel obligated to point out that Colin Kaepernick is available as well.
  12. Umm....I probably wouldn't hate taking a shot at several of those players, particularly the pitchers. Unfortunately to grab any of them we'd have to take on their salary which would push us over the tax line I think.
  13. Cuas went on bereavement list, Anthony Kay (groan) called up
  14. Yes and with a rookie QB and no 1st round pick there is absolutely no incentive for them to tank so they are going to be playing to win all season including the end when other teams are going for draft position or preparing for the playoffs
  15. You can't make this stuff up. What in the world
  16. We always seem to hit Burnes well during opening week and then he shuts us down any other time he faces us.
  17. Here are the Cubs weighted values against cutters since 8/1: Hoerner 1.5 Wisdom 1.4 Happ 0.5 Morel 0.0 Bellinger 0.0 Amaya -0.1 Candelario -0.4 Suzuki -0.5 Madrigal -0.5 Tauchman -0.7 Swanson -2.5 Gomes -2.9
  18. Otherwise known as a Trestman
  19. I literally even started posting notes on what he said a few hours ago lol
  20. The sad thing is that if the Cubs get swept, they are guaranteed to lose all their WC cushion as the Giants (2 GB) and Reds (2 GB) are currently playing a series. One of those teams is going to win twice to pull even with the Cubs. My suggested solution is for the Cubs to not get swept.
  21. This is a little misleading since 2 of his relief appearances were essentially treated as starts. As a 1 inning reliever he has 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
  22. Yeah, I just think the Brewers are red hot right now. Tough to beat teams when they are playing this well. I thought we outplayed them in that series in July despite splitting. Just a bad time to be playing them.
