Well the good thing about having 2 first round picks is that even if the Bears put it together a bit, we can still root for the Panthers to lose

So I guess 300 passing yard 4 TD games are the norm now at 189 by halftime. horsefeathers it be the first Bears QB to throw for 400 yards in a game since 1999. They won’t because the coaches will go Uber conservative though

It's insane that they make the same mistakes over and over again. The rumor is that Trace Armstrong basically influenced the GM and HC hire and they are both his clients. The Bears didn't find that strange at all? They didn't think of maybe trying something differently when the last time they forced a new GM to hire their chosen HC it failed miserably? Nope just do the same thing all over again and hope it works out this time.

BTW, this is largely where I read that bit about man vs. zone and how it changed as the game went on and the difficulty he had adjusting to it. https://www.dabearsblog.com/2023/reviewing-justin-fields-game-against-denver @gflore34 I've been so burned out with analysis videos that i didnt keep up with them this week but good to see others noticing him doing the right things in those moments.

I also read that the Broncos played largely man coverage in the first half and he torched them on it. They switched to zone in the 2nd half and Fields coudnt read the field as well and started checking down a lot more. Not sure if its valid, TBH I didnt watch much after they were up 28-7 because i had to coach my kids baseball game.

Thinking about this game I came to the realization that I'll be disappointed if the Bears lose and I'll be disappointed if the Bears win. What a horsefeathers team.

haha I've been toting around that factoid for 20 years. I think Z was just gassed by that point of the season. Not sure how many IP he had in earlier minor league/major league seasons but I'm guessing he surpassed his high that season. He did look pretty sharp for most of game 5 though.

Yeah and given the weirdness around the COVID season its hard to even really use that data. It's just an interesting factoid for now.

Including 2020, 13 of the 16 Wild Card series have ended with a 2-0 sweep, 6 of them swept by the home team, 7 swept by the road team (the home team won 2 of the 3 series that went to 3 games)

Whoops, yeah I did see that. Since roughly Friday I've barely paid any attention to baseball. Welp, so much for that Brewers.
