It is stupid as hell but its helped the Cubs here because they cant string together multiple hits in an inning to save their lives.

We knew that once we saw Drew Smyly come into the game. I don't care how well he's pitched in relief in mostly low leverage situations. That said a bunt out and a bloop arent bad results for him, they just happened to lead to a bad outcome

The main thing I've noticed with the Cubs approach lately is WAY too many HR swings. I can't remember the last time I've seen a team have so many sell out for HR swings. Literally almost every player. Morel, Belli, Swanson, Hoerner, Seiya. Pretty sure I saw Madrigal take one yesterday. What happened to the approach that got the Cubs to this point?

Cant believe Drew "I give up a ton of HRs in my first inning of work" Smyly is going to try to close a 1 run lead in a gigantic game. I'd almost rather throw Wicks and have a pen game tomorrow. Need this win too much. (no i wouldnt really do that)
