  1. UM, how fast was the line moving, my roomate has 2668, when do you think that will be called? Umm...I was 1750, it took me about 2 hours to get in the park (about 500 people). So I would say sometime between noon and one hopefully
  2. I got 8 tickets for the Boston series, 8 tickets for the White Sox series, opening day and a Cards series in August (the Saturday game). Overall I am VERY HAPPY!!!
  3. Looks like No Tippin Ben Gordon is a class act afterall: http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/gordon_letter_050217.html
  4. 4-3 in "The month that will ruin the Bulls" with 4 games to play. Unfortunately, I think the Bulls will only go 2-2 in that span as they play 4 games in 5 nights after the break vs. Miami, at Cle, vs. Was, at Cha
  5. Former Bull and Indiana native Brad Miller entered the United Center wearing a Mark Prior jersey. "That's my team and always will be," Miller said.
  6. The All-Star break will do that to ya
  7. I'll say. It appears that Curry looked good with 23 points. Do you know what the technical foul was about, though? Of course, Deng led the charge with 30 and 11 boards in 46 minutes. Throw in Chandler's 15 boards and Gordon going 4-7 from beyond the arch and you've got a W. Apparently hanging on the rim too long after a dunk
  8. Yeah the last 2 games (NJN/MIA) they have allowed the other team to take way too many open shots. So much for contesting a shot. Skiles better get this team thinking defense again.
  9. *Ahem* anyone still on the BandWGN?
  10. Horrible game tonight, anyone that saw it can attest to it. Wow
  11. The only national TV game (TNT, ESPN, ABC, etc) game scheduled for the Bulls this year was sometime in December against Philly, a game the Bulls lost fairly badly. There was word that ESPN could alter their schedule to include the Bulls later in the season if they are still doing well.
  12. LeBron James and Dwayne Wade were also selected to play in that game. Neither will, as both should be All-Star starters. I read somewhere that LBJ said he wanted to play in the rookie challenge even if he gets selected in the All Star game. The man is nuts
  13. Geez, everytime I check Gamecast, Eddy Curry is getting an Alley Oop dunk. You'd figure opponents would catch on....
  14. Man I wish I stayed for the Down on the Farm part. Getting Z's autograph was nice though :) Thanks for the notes.
  15. I thought that the Bulls draft is protected 1-3 this year, number 1 the next year and unconditional in 2007. So if the Bulls get the first 3 picks in 2005 (doubtful because even if they make the lottery they'll have less then 3% chance) they keep the pick and it defers to next year, then in 2006 if they get the number 1 pick, the Bulls keep the pick and it defers to next year. Finally in 2007, no matter what pick the Bulls get it will goto the Suns if they haven't gotten a Bulls pick yet. Regardless, if they don't get a top 3 pick this year, it's going to Phoenix. It seemed risky at the time to trade Deng for that pick, but I would easily trade our 15th pick this year for Luol with so much upside.
  16. Also, I propose that when people ask questions next year, they identify themselves as "first/last name from NSBB.com" We need to get out name out there for all to see! The shirts really did help from Jon and Mark
  17. Did anyone ask why similar improvements aren't slated for the third base side? I imagine they'red be no place to put the tarp ... Yeah, it's most likely the tarp. I can't think of anywhere else they could put it and still be able to cover the field quickly once a game is delayed due to rain. Plus, they already had those two rows of folding chairs on the field on the first base side from the '98 playoffs. I think basically this was the main reasoning for the decision to put new seats there.
  18. BTW, for those that didn't see Jon or Mark in action, these guys worked extremely hard jotting down all these notes to post for us all. I don't think I saw Jon's face looking up at what was going on too often because of all the notes he was taking, I don't know how he even enjoyed it (:)). So I want to thank Jon and Mark, because that was pretty cool of them.
  19. Just got back from today's proceedings. I got there around 8:45 and headed straight for the Boulevard Room for the Cubs business segment. John McDonough, Mark McGuire and others were there answering questions. I got a seat with Jon, Serena, and Mpeel (although we didn't talk, sorry!). John will give you the notes, but the fans asked some hard hitting questions about revenues, Steve Stone randomly, etc. Then we started watching the On the Farm segment with Leicester and Dubois. Dubois got a great great reception and the Ice man got a nice but lesser one. Dave Otto was moderating the event, he let me say he is a horrible public speaker. He seemed to be reading from a script at some points, his voice was crackily (I think he was out late drinking....) and had to ask if the Cubs 2003 pick was Brian Harvey or Ryan. But anyways we skipped out because.... Carlos Zambrano made a suprise appearence signing autographs. It was unannounced, although McDonough made a remark about it in his first meeting. Thanks to Jon ducking out early he informed Serena and I that a line was forming and we were able to get a spot in the second row of the line (with Ronnie Woo Woo looking on from the outside of the line). Zambrano came out with huge smiles and an awesome reception from the quickly increasing crowd. The security told us that he didn't have to do this and volunteered to make an appearence because he missed out on Saturday. So we got to the front of the line and Jon, Serena, my friend Matt and I all got to say something to Z and he responded (I got the most face time because I had to repeat my question). I told Zambrano that he should get a Cy Young clause in his new contract and he responded with a smile saying "I should!". Serena and Jon asked more entertaining questions, but I will let them reveal the secrets that Zambrano has unveiled for us later (big news regarding Zambrano's favorite chewable snack :)) Anyways, I had a great time, thanks a ton to Mark_R for allowing me to use his ticket for the final day since he could not make it. Now I can't wait for the 2005 season to start!
  20. I didn't think we were going to win....simply amazing
  21. Burnt out cubbie, South Loop Club is the biggest ripoff in the city, did you happen to catch their beer prices? Ugh, my friends and I go there all the time because its right down the street from my dorm sorry /rant
  22. Apparently Skiles ripped the team after the game saying that it was a below mediocre effort by the Bulls tonight. Quite interesting.
  23. So I know Saturday's the big day, but does anyone with experience with the Convention know what will be going on Sunday? Any player appearences or was today the big day for that? Also, if anyone wants to meet up Sunday, I'll definitely be there. (Thanks Mark!) Edit: Thanks for the recap too, I appreciate it
  24. Well geez Kirk was 4-16 today and they didn't show any signs of taking him out. Gordon usually shoots his best in the 4th and you take him out? I blame this loss on the black unis....
  25. Alright Serena, I think it is time for me to unretire, as my retirement didn't do us much good. Count me in for 2005. Also I start one of the WGN Spring Training threads and provide good PBP for the game if you'd like
