  1. If that happened, their 2 best wins would be 1) Whichever ranked team they beat and 2) Miami, FL However, 1. Ill 2. Ind 3. Wis 4. OSU 5. Iowa 6. MSU 7. Michigan With the stregnth of the big 10, it will be easy to get 7 teams in, and I was worried about Minnesota until Big 10 play started.
  2. Well then, I guess everyone is pretty indifferent about Michigan then. Damn I need more UM fans to come to this board....
  3. What does everyone think about Michigan so far? They are 12-3 (2-2) and all three of their losses came in rather close games against ranked teams (7 pts to UCLA, 7 points AT Indiana, 5 points AT Illinois) Their best wins however are against the likes of Notre Dame and Miami and they only beat Purdue at Chrysler Arena by 3 points. For the most part, they have struggled against a lot of the teams that they beat. Is this team capable of beating the MSUs, Wisconsins, Ohio States, Iowas of the Big 10 (at home or away) and will this team be able to wade through a strong Big 10 on the way to their first NCAA Bearth since 1998? **This is where I speculate and ramble on** If they win all the games they should (which they have all year), that should give them 16 wins (at Min, at Penn State, at Purdue, vs. Min). I think 20 will be the magic number (along with a win at the Big 10 tournament), so they need to win 4 games with this schedule - vs. MSU, vs. Wisc, at Iowa, vs. OSU, at MSU, vs. Ill, at OSU, vs. Ind. Lets say they go 3-2 at their home games (Chrysler IMO does not have a strong home court advantage), that means they need to beat either Iowa, MSU or OSU on the road. Can they do this?
  4. I'll do it again. Last year I was part of the 7 game winning streak ;)
  5. Seriously, I would not be upset if the Bears traded up and drafted D'Brickashaw Ferguson. I have never wanted a player for him name this much since World B. Free
  6. NSBB ::Premium:: Board (;)) Basketballboards.net Bulls Board Skyscrapercity.com Chicago Forum (good forum with civic discussions about Chicago) Thats about it
  7. At least there will be something interesting going on in March. I usually get rather tired of Spring Training by the middle of March and just want the season to start.
  8. Since the league went to 32 teams, the schedule works out very nicely. Here are the games the Bears will play every year: Home-and-home against division foes (6 games) Games against an NFC division (4 games, 2 home, 2 away) - 2006 is NFC West Games against an AFC division (4 games, 2 home, 2 away) - 2006 is AFC East Games against NFC teams that finished in the same place in their division as you (2 games, 1 home, 1 away) - 2006 is Tampa Bay, NY Giants This past year was NFC South, AFC North, San Francisco and Washington. I knew the other parts...forgot about that one...thanks. OK I got it, thanks for clarifying. I thought the NFL just really liked San Fran/Chicago matchups...
  9. Has anyone seen the schedule next year? HOME AWAY 49ers Cardinals Seahawks Rams Bills Patriots Dolphins Jets Packers Packers Vikings Vikings Lions Lions Couple of oddities: Somehow it seems like we play the Buccaneers every year since they left for the NFC South. Is there a reason for that? And a HUGE oddity. Somehow we are slated to face the 49ers at home for the third consecutive year. We also played the Niners in 2003 in SF to start the season and in 2001 at home, making this the 5th time in 6 years we play our NFC West "rival", and the 4th in 6 at home...
  10. hahaaha I remember that! That was so awesome. That and when he was taunting the Cardinals fans because it was really hot outside and the bullpen had a huge fan in there. He said something like: "Boy its really hot out here man. You should really come down here, its cool as hell with this huge fan" <3 Dempster
  11. Can I start game one of the NLDS? (between the Braves and Cardinals)
  12. I'm not sure how the salaries look, but its rediculously ineffecient for an NFL team to carry 3 competent RBs on their team. Benson will stay and most likely Peterson is a career backup, so it looks like TJ is the odd man out. Trade him for a TE or a second round pick. It sucks to lose him, but thats what happens when the Bears drafted a RB in the first round last year...
  13. Bah, didn't want to goto Seattle (if we win). Let's take advantage of Home Field while we have it
  14. I didn't actually hear the clip of it. All I heard was that some fan during a Q and A flipped out at Hendry today and Hendry had an interesting response. They said they would be replaying the clip later in the show and that people had been calling in all day to comment/make fun/laugh about it. Most were probably Sox fans mocking the Cubs. I'm sure one of the NSBBers that went to the Convention will report on it tonight. Or just tune into AM 1000 or WSCR and see if they are still talking about it. I wanted to wait and listen to but I was late for work at the time.
  15. I can't. Redskins fans are really, really annoying. They actually got angry at Dan Patrick for not picking them to win the Super Bowl... they act like every year is their year and everyone else is wrong, no matter how bad the team is doing. I dont care how annoying they are, home NFC Championship game...
  16. Heard a Cubs fan flipped out at Hendry today, they were replaying on ESPN or the Score (I forgot) all day
  17. Looks like jmajew won't have to work hard to make fans here at NSBB. This is true, but he is also a real life friend haha.
  18. Thanks to fellow NSBB member JMAJEW, I was just offered and accepted a ticket to the game. I don't know how I'll contain my excitement at work today!!
  19. I expected Prior to tell off the Cubs and Hendry and announce his desire to bolt to any other team that will give him money after he becomes a FA.
  20. How can that be? 4000-1? I'm assuming since you were betting on football too, this occured before the World Series. I'm not discrediting what you said, but that seems really strange to have 4000-1 odds to sweep a World Series.
  21. I can swear you had the Bears winning by more earlier this week...
  22. He really should go to Colorado with the ole blank check routine like Andre did. Then Colorado can play him in home games only, or when the lid is open in Arizona. Absolutely no starts in the California parks. Gee if that happened, I don't think there would be any way to argue that Sosa wasn't a selfish player.

Im almost certain he will go in as a Cardinal. How many years was he with the Cubs? 4? Then surely Maddux should go in as a Cub too..
  24. ^^ Tree you summed up my thoughts to a T. Day games in April, May and September, night games mostly in June, July and August besides weekends. I love the feel of a Wrigley night game. If fact, I used to be on the 81 day games bandwagon for awhile, but after seeing Wrigley night games, I realized that it is no less special to be at Wrigley at night then during the day. However, the spring and fall are perfect for day games. It's cooler out, kids are in school and they are two seasons where people truely enjoy getting outside for the sake of going outside. I love the feeling in April when it first hits 60 degrees and all I want to do is play hooky from school/work and goto Wrigley Field. I wouldn't trade that feeling for the world. In the summer, its brutally hot most of the time during the day, I'd rather goto the beach during the day (or work if you do that sort of thing ;)) and then hit up Wrigley when it cools off at night. Just my opinion though...I guess it doesn't matter to me because I've already sworn that I wouldn't spend a dollar on the Cubs next year anyways.
  25. Jim, Please go over what this past offseason would have looked like if your organization wasnt guarenteed to sell every single seat next year, thus giving the club no motivation to build a consistant winning team.
