Lets disect the post: So basically trying to make himself seem genuine in order to get people to actually believe his post. Even if he is a troll, wouldn't he put a disclaimer up to protect himself because he knows we are all smart enough to not take everyone at their word? Yet he only produced one name that he used at ESPN, and he said he only "lurked there" and barely posted. Who is he? The janitor? The assistant to the traveling secertary? How does someone other then a high-ranking official know about a trade that hasn't even been completed? Did they send out a memo to all the employees that they were about to trade their marquee name to the team they are in the middle of playing? Doesn't his friend have anything better to do then find out transactions a mere hours before they are revealed and tell them to supposed Cubs fans? "Hey man, I know you are a Cubs fan and all, but I figured I'd let you know that THE joe randa is signing with the reds. I figured you should know a few hours before you read it as a blurb at the bottom of the daily transactions page. again, a low ranking official is giving 48 hour notice about a trade, and violates a confidentiality agreement I'm sure he signed before working, to tell his Cub fan friend so that he could post it all over the internet Sure, you knew you were going to get banned anyways. C'mon guys, I understand the excitement, but how can you take a guy at his word and make a 30+ page thread spewing over the possibility of Dunn. I understand what your saying satex, but isnt someone making his first post FAR MORE LIKELY to be feeding us hogwash then someone with 10,000 plus non-bannable posts?

It's a gamble either way because even if he is legit, several things can happen between now and then to dissolve a deal. Remember the Bruce Levine rumor, I have every reason to believe it was true, but something happened (like Remmy getting hurt) and deal never came true and Levine looked like an idiot.

I have a free ticket saturday, but my 3 friends dont. is it hard to get tickets from scalpers and whatnot, and what is the demand like. I'm usually good at negotiating and waiting until the prices go down. oh, did I mention that I'll be wearing Cubs gear and my 3 friends will be wearing Red Sox gear.

And I bet it will be very humid too. Thank goodness I have never been to St. Louis. Actually its not going to be much better in chicago this weekend

Richard Lewis has had a couple of solid games in a row. Hopefully he can build off of it. I still have dreams of Lewis in the Cubs lineup someday :)

It's kinda sad when I see a pitcher with a 9+ ERA and get scared. I don't know what it is or if the Cubs falter by expecting too much, but they seem to lose control when a struggling pitcher is facing them. I predict a close game 5-3 Cubs

I think the Blue Jays turned a respectable uniform into an offshoot of the Devil Rays. Terrible terrible change. Also the Padres road unis are umm interesting too.

The thing about Dunn that I like is his ability to get on base. Yes, the power is certainly nice, but the fact that he can get on base at a very high rate and consistantly, gives the Cubs something to stabalize the offense when the offense runs dry like it usually does. How many times do we go through our offensive cold streaks and we just wish someone can get on base to start something? Dunns presence can do that. Not to mention the protection he can give Lee/Aramis. Imagine Aramis' numbers with someone with a .900 OPS hitting behind him :drool:
