  1. Umm...even though Maddux plays for the Cubs, and Clemens was retired for awhile, they have won games since last season.. ^^ Edit: This was in reference to Mark Prior's Calves ^^
  2. I'm pretty sure I heard something to that extent on Boers and Bernstein, but I was on the phone at work when I heard it.
  3. I have no idea why Baltimore is trying to get Abreu
  4. The context he said it in wasn't necessarily dissing the Cubs. He said that responding to the question that was something like "How do you feel about playing these big games against the Cubs" There is a youtube video of it somewhere.
  5. Haha, so hes over at Rush and Division drinking and riding his motorcycle. Good job buddy. I guess it is better then Wendell Kim, who was often cited as doing his job under the influence.
  6. Wow, how unprofessional. I'd expect that kinda stuff from a White Sox fan, not a professional TV broadcast.
  7. NICE Corey Patterson without the power. I love running backwards, don't you?
  8. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060716cubsbrite,1,76119.story?coll=cs-home-headlines An article on the interview with quotes
  9. I saw an interview with Walker in the postgame conference, and I swear the guy looked like he was about to cry. In fact, a couple of times he sniffled when he was talking about the game. Basically, he said he was embarassed to be out there after messing up like that, he emphasised how good the fans have been to him, and he let them down, but the loss all on him, and the 11 run inning, and there were no excuses for his play. BTW, this was running on Comcast for those interested
  10. Wait, you mean that rookies brought up aren't forced to either play a crappy platoon or sit on the bench for 2 weeks and then get sent back down?
  11. Celebrating the futility of the LA Dodgers? Ha, try following a team that hasn't played in the series since 1945. If you recall, the Dodgers were playing at Brooklyn at the time. Fools.
  12. Z and Lee are the only reason I haven't given up on baseball.
  13. I still don't think he hits for enough power to satisfy the Cubs brass
  14. Yes, his OPS has helped the Cubs immensely this year. Especially over June and July when he carried the club. Without Walker the Cubs would have never made it to the playoffs in 2004 and 2005 and if they trade him they might finish with 105 losses instead of 100. Wait huh? I was defending you
  15. ^^ OK how about his below average (for him) .757 OPS
  16. Normally I probably wouldn't like giving up so many of these players. But I don't care what needs to be done, just do something and your proposal looks good enough for me. Lets do it now.
  17. This just isn't true. Yup, definitely not true.
  18. Sorry to hear that guys.
  19. I was bored and did some looking on baseball reference to compare the Red Sox and the Cubs. The last time the Red Sox were 21 games under .500 at ANY point in a season was September 11, 1966. Since 1966, assuming this season counts, the Cubs have FINISHED more then 20 games under .500 ELEVEN TIMES. Man, we have been historically bad. Even though the Red Sox didn't win one until 2004, they have consistantly fielded non-pathetic teams.
  20. I've also read reports that Lee called out his teammates once again, and said they were playing "flat." If this is true, Hendry has got to take control. Hendry will surely take control by trading that cancer Lee
  21. Besides he couldnt see that part of the dugout from where he was sitting
  22. You guys suck, just shut up, continue sucking and try not to make yourselves look live even more of an embarassment to the organization. I'm sick of this crap. Look at the turnover from the 2004 team and there are STILL events like this going on. It's obvious that our braindead management is allowing this to occur.
