  1. He got pretty good contact on his second AB when he flew out to deep RF.
  2. Umm....I probably shouldn't say but Theriot, Soriano, Reed Johnson.
  3. OMG the game is in the hands of Ronny Cedeno
  4. I've said it before and I'll say it again... The games in April count every bit as much as the games in September. If we're a game out in Sept we can look back to this game as one of those games that should have been won. Yup. Obviously we were able to recover from losing a bunch of winnable games last year, but then again we only won 85 games all season. It would be unlikely that 85 would win the division again, hence we should be winning the games where we take 7-0 leads.
  5. i just went over to baseball reference and you know what i was shocked to find out? No team that has started the season 3-4 has EVER made the playoffs. In fact, back in 1898, the Indianapolis Browns lost four out of their first seven games and the entire team died of polio. If we dont win this, we might as well start the countdown for football season. No crap? Did they have trolls back in 1898 too?
  6. Man even Lee's mojo is gone. What a disastrous game. If we want to win the division we have to lock up these winnable games. I know it sounds obvious, but its apparently not obvious for the Cubs.
  7. Soriano 3-31 this year with a bloop single, infield single and a wind aided HR on his resume.
  8. So far in the 2 games Lilly has started we've given up 15 runs. In the 5 games everyone else has started we've given up 19 runs.
  9. This reminds me of the movie Invincible when Mark Walberg's character screws up his first NFL kickoff, and the coach screams at him "I STUCK MY NECK OUT FOR YOU". This will be the Lou Piniella-Piggy interaction after this performance.
  10. This definitely feels like one of those games we eventually lose. It always happens at this damn ballpark too.
  11. He always starts the year hot. If he keeps it up in the second half, that's when I'll regret not trading for him. As it is, I'm happy with DeRosa's 8-24 start.
  12. At this point, I think this is simply trolling. You're trying to rile up the sizable pro-Cedeno crowd here. Pardon? What is your problem? I didn't even bother to read the previous posts in this thread, nor is there a reason to. I merely logged on here to express my utter disbelief that Cedeno continues to get chances to suck on this roster. I've been a member here for a few years, and have numerous posts. Your "trolling" comment is offensive and belittling; I'd suggest you rethink your comment. Isn't this a game thread - a place where forum members can post their comments on the game? Cedeno has driven in half of today's runs. You're welcome to post what you want, but you might want to rethink it as well. 3.5 rbi? Impressive. No he's driven home 5 of the game's 12 runs though.
  13. If Cedeno does bad today, I reserve the right to start calling him Rnny Ceen again
  14. Cedeno lovers got your wish! A. Soriano lf R. Johnson cf D. Lee 1b A. Ramirez 3b K. Fukudome rf M. DeRosa 2b G. Soto c R. Cedeno ss T. Lilly p N. McLouth cf F. Sanchez 2b J. Bay lf R. Doumit c X. Nady rf D. Mientkiewicz 1b J. Bautista 3b L. Rivas ss T. Gorzelanny p
  15. Ohhhh boy, we could be only 1.5 games back after today!
  16. One less second baseman for Hendry to try to acquire.
  17. Thanks for the "insider" knowledge. I'd imagine this kinda stuff happens all the time. It's not hard for someone's mechanics to become off.
  18. I'm surprised more people aren't flipping out that the Cardinals and Brewers are 5-1 with the Reds at 4-2. Mildly annoying, I'll agree but nothing to worry about after 1 week.
  19. Man the Cubs have gotten robbed a few times now.
  20. What will be higher, Fukudome's OBP or Soriano's OPS? Right now: Fukudome OBP: .578 Soriano OPS: .145
  21. But look at those IP numbers, he's a workhorse! Good Luck getting alot in return. I'll take a PTBNL and have them take on $1 million of his salary. We'll pay the rest.
  22. Hmm...maybe Hart should be our #5 starter.
