  1. Some photos from today's practice at Wrigley: Kosuke is wondering what he got himself into: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20080330/i/r4277765746.jpg Guess he got used to it after awhile: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20080330/i/r39470222.jpg Either Z is well layered or he is getting a bit pudgy: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20080330/i/r874667831.jpg Obviously these pictures were taken from a Japanese news outlet. All Kosuke all the time: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20080330/i/r70160697.jpg The last time the Cubs played at Wrigley, for game 3 of the NLDS, it was over 80 degrees: http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20080330/i/r1165458830.jpg
  2. You guys are killing the last day of this thread. But I do applaud your efforts to get this to page 400.
  3. It's not ugly, its just got New Comiskey Park syndrome. Meaning, the retro ballpark design has lost its luster and originality.
  4. :x NL MOY = NL Man of the Year given to him by the rest of the league for single handedly removing the Reds from any sort of contention
  5. DeRosa? Is Brian Roberts hurt or something? (sorry, I had to) Go Cobs!
  6. So is that Reed Johnson that led off and homered for the Cubs today?
  7. Just wanted to let everyone know that Cubs.com has released additional tickets for Opening Day on Monday. I was able to pull up 2 and 4 tickets to a bunch of different sections, including 100 level seats and 400 level seats.
  8. I think what I am going to do is take a half day Monday and leave work at like 11. If it gets rained out, I will take a half day again the next day. Previously, I was planning on taking a full day off and being at the bar by 9am.
  9. Says the guy with a Northwestern logo staring at me, I gotta run Wisconsin is playing their Sweet 16 game right now. And now NU and UW both have nothing to look forward to. Except baseball :)
  10. You'll be fine. More and more Brewers fans show up at Wrigley every year and its not a big deal. Just don't be a jerk if the Brewers win, and if a Cubs fan instigates you, play it cool. Remember that you are technically in enemy territory.
  11. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=cubs/0919&sportCat=mlb Each of the last 99 years of Cub futility detailed fully. Yay!
  12. :rotfl: This was posted on page 3. Roberts for Zambrano and Marmol
  13. The time will come soon. This is the best weekend of the year in my mind. Nothing but 162 games ahead of us. It's just a weekend away.
  14. I keep forgetting to change my location in my profile. I used to live in Wilmette, and I still spend some time there in the summer, but I live and work in Nashville now. That still doesn't explain how you are a Cubs fan and Yankees season ticket holder living in Tennessee :)
  15. You live in Wilmette, post on a Cubs message board but have Yankees season tickets? Man, if I was still in college I'd love to take you up on that.
  16. I love the annual Vegas trip. One of the few spring games I can catch, and I usually watch it while I'm pregaming to go out, getting excited for Opening Day the following Monday.
  17. Again, I didn't see the home run. Did it hit the scoreboard on a line? If it cleared the scoreboard, I would assume it would land in the parking lot
  18. i doubt the scoreboard is that far back or that high in this park. http://espn.go.com/media/radio/2004/0324/photo/diamond.jpg That's where I was getting my estimations from. Then again, I'm a horrible estimator. http://www.springtrainingonline.com/images/hohokam_stadium2.gif Theres another angle. I think I'm pretty accurate.
  19. I didn't see the home run Cedeno hit. Did it really hit the top of the scoreboard? If so that might be a 600 foot homer... Its 340 out to left, 390 to left center. It's probably like 360 to the part of the park he hit it. Then you gotta figure theres about 75-100 feet to the base of the scoreboard. The scoreboard is what....40 feet high? That's gotta be about 600 feet of distance.
  20. Wow Andy, you have a Pythagorean record of 83 wins, but you predict the team will win 91. That's ambitious.
  21. Mr. Pessimism is back! I'm surprised to see so many people here on the Brewers NL Central bandwagon. AL East Yankees 97-65 Red Sox 95-67 Blue Jays 85-77 Rays 79-83 Orioles 63-99 AL Central Tigers 91-71 Indians 90-72 White Sox 80-82 Royals 76-86 Twins 75-87 AL West Angels 85-77 Mariners 83-79 Rangers 76-86 A's 72-90 NL East Mets 93-69 Braves 89-73 Phillies 84-78 Nationals 72-90 Marlins 66-96 NL Central Brewers 89-73 Cubs 83-79 Reds 79-83 Astros 76-86 Cardinals 72-90 Pirates 68-94 NL West Dodgers 92-70 Diamondbacks 90-72 Rockies 84-78 Padres 84-78 Giants 62-100
