  1. I'll go for sure! Ryno back at Wrigley should be enough to draw 20k
  2. BTW, suggestion. We should have these threads in the Game Threads forum. That way when we want to look back on a past "postgame thread" we can find them easier
  3. I'm at the point where just let the big baby hit 1st, but please for the love of God have either KFuk or DeRosa hitting second. They are 2 of the only 3 players (Lee being the other) that has a clue of how to approach a majority of their ABs.
  4. But since you requested for one postgame thread, something thats taken 6 years to finally accomplish, I would like to talk about the following topics: 1. Lilly's start 2. Soriano's play 3. Kendall burning the Cubs 4. No one trying to run on Kendall 5. KFuk and ARam's botched hit and run 6. The fan response at Wrigley to the game 7. How annoying Brewers fans are 8. Why Howry sucks early in the season 9. Why haven't the Cubs worn the blue jerseys yet
  5. Please, please try not to be absurd. I appreciate the sentiments wolf, but I came into this season doubting that. How are we so amazingly talented? Just because every TV baseball person says it doesn't mean its true. Yeah I'm not getting it either. We have some good players and some really bad ones too. I never agreed with the predictions being heaped on us from the beginning. We've always had a very solid chance of being unseated by the Brewers. That was true until the final couple days of last season, and it remains true now. It should be decent ballclub. I don't see greatness here, on the whole. They should still be able to match last seasons win total and maybe flirt with 90. Which basically is what you said. Yes, thats exactly what I was saying. Except, the team on paper feels like an 83-85 win team. Obviously Hendry will make a move at some point, but who knows if said move will actually improve the club.
  6. Oh great even better. How about Soriano, the $136 million idiot who can only hit leadoff even though he has no skills typical of a leadoff hitter Fukudome, teams best OBP guy Lee Ramirez etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc Pie Pitcher Neifi Perez the Pope Hitler Barry Bonds Ryan Theriot
  7. The 2004 Cardinals started the season 10-11, and went on to win 105 games. Huh? When did I say a slow start dooms you. I said we never get off to great starts. Huh? I'm saying what does my comment have to do with the Cardinals start in 2005.

  10. So thats what happens when 2 combustible forces meet.
  11. When is the last time we won the first series of the season? 2008 - 0-2 vs. Milwaukee 2007 - 1-2 vs. Cincinnati 2006 - 1-1 vs. Cincinnati 2005 - 1-2 vs. Arizona 2004 - 1-2 vs. Cincinnati 2003 - 2-1 vs. New York 2002 - 1-2 vs. Cincinnati 2001 - 1-2 vs. Montreal 2000 - 1-1 vs. New York (Japan)....if you don't count that 0-3 vs. St. Louis So we are 1-6-2 in Opening Series in this decade.
  12. pie tin? piece? There are probably 43 different responses to my question, but I am only looking for one in particular.
  13. Figures. Pie gets a completely pressure free AB here and he gets overmatched on 4 pitches. You know what P-I-E is halfway to spelling?
  14. At least bring in Gagne to make it fair Milwaukee
  15. Ironically, after the first game I was pissed about the offday. Now after today, I wish tomorrow was an offday.
  16. Jason Kendall's season stats .500 BA (3-6) .625 OBP (5-8) .833 SLG 1.458 OPS 2 Doubles 1 Run scored 2 RBI
  17. I was wrong. tHAT 8-16 START was in 2002, so my bad. And I went back over the 2003 start, and the Cubs went 14-12, don't count the March 31st game. But my point remains the same, this "slow start" myth needs to be thrown out the door. If you are competing to make the playoffs, 14-12 isn't going to cut it most years. That will give you 87 wins on the year at that pace. It may cut it the other years, but 14-12 certainly isn't a "fast start" It's more like a "barely adequate playoff pace" start.
  18. Yeah lets get the traffic out of Wrigleyville before I hit that area on my commute home.
  19. Not only that, but what did they say 40% of our home games are in April and May, while 60% are in June, July, August, September? We better get our crap together now so that we aren't facing a slew of tough road games to gain ground back. I know, we have to play the Brewers, Astros, Cards, Reds, Pirates, Nats, Braves, Mets, Phillies, Marlins, Rockies, D-Backs, Dodgers, Padres, and Giants. We're screwed. It's the NL, last I checked. The NL seems to be doing a number on us right now.
  20. Ramirez and Soriano start out the season 0-15. Ramirez and Soriano went 2-26 in the playoffs. In their last 5 games that count, Ramirez and Soriano have gone 2-41 (.049). I know that stat means nothing, but its funny to look at anyways.
  21. Uhh the Cubs were 15-12 in April 2003..

  23. This will be the 6th straight game that counts that we've lost.
