What do past teams (with completely different players) have to do with this team? You must be young. What kind of answer was that? What do past teams have to do with this team? Do you believe in curses? Santa Claus? Monsters? I believe in added pressure that comes with hearing about curses and 100 years every day of the season. And if you think it doesn't, you are extremely naive. I hope they prove me wrong but 69, 77, 84, 03 and 04 tell me differently. No, no its the day games at Wrigley. Too hard to get adjusted to these night games on the road.
It does have that bad feeling to it. I guess I just don't get why we are so bad on the road this year. We aren't that much different of a team this year....last year we finished what 40-41 on the road?
The Cubs are the most talented and deepest team in the NL. They may be bad right now, and they might absolutely suck balls on the road, but eventually they will play better. They might not end up making the playoffs, but there is no way they are tanking.
People mocked Beane for saying the playoffs are a crapshoot, but you know what he's right. If the Cubs come into the playoffs hitting like this, they will get swept. If they play like they have other times this year, they will do well.
Dempster On the road. If you take out his one start against the White Sox, he has a 2.78 ERA on the road this year. Obviously you can't take that out, but even with that in there its sub-4.00 Not that he is bad...he just never gets wins (Cubs usually play like garbage in general on the road). fixed

This game reminds me of the 3 game series we had in Houston last year when we lost 2-1 in the 10th inning of game 1, lost 5-2 in game 2 and lose 8-2 in the last game to get swept.
