  1. Cubs starters since the break: 8 IP 1 ER 6.1 IP 4 ER 8 IP 0 ER 7 IP 1 ER Total 29.1 IP 6 ER = 1.84 ERA Cubs record: 1-3
  2. Not Marquis and Lilly Im worried about. Nope but when we're pitching well in games and not winning, its going to really suck when we stop pitching well in games.
  3. Huh, they both had .869 OPS before that inning Amazing that we have the best record in the NL and not a single regular on the team with an OPS above .870
  4. Marquis and Lilly to finish off the series
  5. The rest of the Cubs do everything possible to make sure that it isn't orgasmic.
  6. Lets just say I haven't seen many popups or weak grounders, and I believe he only has 4 Ks.
  7. Another liner directly to Young. Holy hell
  8. Last year in reverse. It's gonna happen. If we can't score off the crappy 45 year old, our once 8.5 game lead is down to 2. We lead by 8.5? I think so 5.5 was our biggest lead this year He means over the Brewers
  9. This is why I grind my teeth when I say "at least we are swinging the bat well against this guy"
  10. Is there a way to ban the Cubs from NSBB if they don't?
  11. Last time Rammy snapped out of his long 0-fer it was a HR. Do it again.
  12. Is it? Or did we just see a hot first half and that's the end? I'm beginning to wonder. Well we finished 8th in the NL in runs scored last year and theoretically we got better in the offseason, so yeah. I also don't think that a team that led the NL in runs scored by a decent margin the first 60% of the season is a fluke. Maybe not as good as they've shown but certainly not the garbage we are watching right now.
  13. LOL yeah, his bullpen blew an 8 run lead for him denying him a win. In his second start, he pitches a no hitter into the 6th inning, and gets 0 runs of support.
  14. 9 more outs for the Cubs to work with. Randy Johnson at 71 pitches through 6 so unless he unravels he is going 8. If we lose this game, I am going to start to panic. The Cubs offense is better than this no walking, no patience, no hitting garbage that they've shown.
  15. If Randy doesn't throw balls, we're not going to walk. It's not like we're chasing. Fine...last 8 Cubs batters, 22 total pitches, 8 pitches taken, 14 pitches swung at.
  16. Last 12 batters: 8 total balls seen.
  17. I'm a bit worried that in both of Harden's starts he looks electric in the first few innings and then quickly loses his control and throws a lot of pitches in the later innings. Don't know if thats just a small sample size fluke though. I'm also worried about the fact that no Cub has been to a 3 ball count tonight (I don't think)
  18. I'm pretty sure the Cubs haven't faced him in several years. The last time was 4/26/04 http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/4288/gamelog;_ylt=AqFfPe4PalSTpyZBFNfS9PiFCLcF?year=2004 I remember that game. Zambrano got shelled. It was on ESPN so I was really excited to watch it, and we got hosed.
  19. I might be the only person who still has Rickie Weeks on their fantasy team. And yes I started him tonight.
  20. Wow... Piniero getting ripped apart.. 4 straight hits and its 3-2
  21. If he finishes with an OPS over .900 I don't care what he does. He's got some catching up to do.
  22. I am actually totally calm watching this game. I can't see myself caring who wins and loses. Either way we gain or lose to one of them.
  23. Whose left to worry about contracts for the time being. Just Hester right?
  24. Ramirez has treaded back to his normal BB levels since early June, Lee has not been walking at a good rate (for him) all year, Fukudome seems to be getting squeezed and getting no close calls at the dish and is just slumping in general, Soto hasn't been walking that much since May. The Cubs team OBP has gone down every month this year. I don't think they are 2006 Cubs levels here, but they aren't going to be like April and May again.
  25. 4-day timeout for you. For real? Are you going to ban people for saying Theodore Lilly too? Edit: Oh wait, my sarcasm meter is off.
