  1. What the hell are they blabbing about on the Cardinals telecast. They are joking around about Jim Edmonds text messaging the announcers tonight talking about how all the Cubs are watching this game intently. I can't tell if they are kidding or not
  2. I honestly don't remember what I did for the entire 4th quarter and postgame. My friends tell me that I just sat there on the couch saying "I can't believe we did it.....super bowl....i can't believe we did it....wow....super bowl" for like an hour. And the Bears mean maybe half as much as the Cubs do to me (although its still an awful lot...the Cubs are just below God and family for me :))
  3. I know you are trying to be an anti-troll but, shut up. You so know you are winning. 21-30 road record + 13-39 or whatever it is all time at this park + exact rematch of game 2 of NLDS which Cubs lost + Doug Davis soft tossing lefty = Cubs lose
  4. I think there are 2 PUP lists. The one now means they can come back at anytime. The next one is when the season begins, at which point he'd have to sit 6 games. Hester sitting out is annoying, but understandable. He's outperformed his contract possibly more than any player in the league. I hope he gets signed, but not to #1 receiver money. But why the hell is ESPNnews saying Bears CB Devin Hester? He hasn't been a CB in a very long time. I think he's still listed as a CB, not a WR on the Bears depth chart.
  5. Yeah I really wish we had a team that had a long string of come from behind late inning victories. Oh wait....
  6. Doesn't PUP mean he can't participate in games until the regular season? Or am I way off base?
  7. "Grossman back to pass, he pulls out his trusty buffalo nickel and flips it in the air. It's heads! Grossman tosses it to Booker, and its picked off"
  8. So we can assume Hester is holding out then?
  9. I remember that first game last year vs the Chargers - what a defense. With Dusty, Brown, and Harris hopefully back healthy this defense could be really good. I hope Forte can chip block and catch a little swing pass, cause whoever is QB is going to be under a lot of pressure. I want to see more from Olsen this year. I hope he gained some strength, especially in his legs. Lots of If's there. The D is also a year older, Brown hasn't stayed healthy for an entire year since what 2003? Forte is a rookie, but should bring some promise. The only we we succeed this year in my mind is if Brown is healthy, one WR (Bradley?) emerges Bernard Berrian style, and Grossman is Sept 2006 Grossman for half of the season (should he be named starter)
  10. He was in a group though, right? Was it Canning's group? No, he was his own group. I forgot his last name. Anixter I think? Also Levin is still in the mix I think (the owner of the Wolves)
  11. I should mention that the article says that there is a chance Canning can still make a stronger bid to show they are serious and get back in the race. I am guessing because of Selig's support for Canning, he should still be considered in the race. That said, I am really surprised their bid is that low. Maybe the group doesn't want it as much as we thought?
  12. I'm so down on the Bears this year, yet so excited that their season has begun.
  13. Looks like Canning is out for the time being, as several bidders have moved onto the next stage: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chicago-cubs-bid-jul23,1,4464822.story
  14. Could there have been a less exciting time for Soriano to come off the DL? Seriously if he came back right after the All Star break, we would all be saying "YAY SORI'S BACK!" but right now its just so down in here.
  15. I'm not really scared of the Brewers in Milwaukee. They were awesome at home last year and we managed to have a winning record there.
  16. I would argue that we should be cheering for the Brewers. While the Brewers are threatening to take our division lead, at least with them winning, and presumably knocking the Cardinals back, it becomes a 2 team race instead of a 3 team race.
  17. Weird....activated exactly 6 weeks to the day. This is one estimate the Cubs doctors got exactly right.
  18. God someone at least help Mike Brown carry his damn stuff. Are the trying to injure him?
  19. Awesome, Rauch is going close it out against us. I love it.
  20. I have never seen so many fly balls directly to OFs in my life. It seems like every other hitter. What I wouldn't do for a Juan Pierre to hit a grounder to second.
  21. Remembering, or trying to atleast. :( I remember when I said that. Such cheerful times of hopeful optimism
  22. Nice Ward. All the times you've come up this year in big situations and didn't come through. Your 2 HRs this year have come when were are up like 9-0, and when we're down 5-1 and have no offensive ability to come back.
  23. How about we post every post as a question until the Cubs win? http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/5436/picture3sr5.png Please no....the Brewers fans did this exact same thing in a game thread last year. How annoying.
