  1. Anyone know why Pie left the game for Iowa after doubling in the third?
  2. I think they said that if we lose this game we will be 3-12 in our past 15 games including the playoffs at Arizona.
  3. Something bizarre is happening in AZ. The ball was absolutely drilled by Ramirez. Well I guess this is what we get for cheating at home :)
  4. OK, I caved...I just turned the game on. Brewers up 4-3? I don't think I'm being my usual pessimistic self when I say with Sheets and Sabathia going the next 2 days, if we don't get our heads out of our butts, we could start the weekend in second place.
  5. haahahahahahahah That's awesome that Z was there.
  6. Honestly, anyone who does not see the logic behind ERA > WL record is not very bright in general.
  7. Was this post created in March and just now posted?
  8. And the run of consecutive good moves by the Brewers ends at 2
  9. Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia agree
  10. No MLB Extra Innings? Free Preview is still on.
  11. Sure. Or you could walk a few extra blocks and get on the Sheridan stop instead of Addison. This way you get on before the mess that is the Addison stop and you'll get a seat :)
  12. How are they still called the "Cubs" in the title. I am not even sure if they are worthy of "Cobs" at this point. One more loss and I would suggest them being called the "Losers"
  13. That's all well and good, but as I previously pointed out, 5 of those runs were unnecessarily poured on on a team who didn't score a run all game; sure those 5 runs completely killed ANY hope for the Astros, but in the end were pretty much meaningless. 6 meaningful runs in Houston [and 0 so far in AZ], total. I'm still [-( over that crap. Yeah, I was kinda being sarcastic :)
  14. Last night took quite a bit out of me. I'm such a drama queen...but I need to decompress tonight. I'll check to see who won in the morning.
  15. You should post what you posted early in today's game thread to get people off the ledge. It's after the game, no can do. (Honestly, I wonder what UMFan was like during the NBA Finals in the 90s.) Hey come on that post wasn't too irrational. Are any of those things I said not true? Yes. Cubs have 17 HR from the #3 spot (7th in NL) Cubs have .379 OBP from the #4 spot (3rd in NL) Cubs OPS with RISP is .811 (2nd in the NL) The RISP thing I'll give you. That's just been a trend in the small sample size since the break. The first 2 though show numbers that are heavily inflated by the first 2 months of the year. If you look at the numbers since June 1 you will see a big difference. Now while the numbers in April and May show the potential of this offense, the fact is, the overall team hitting numbers have declined in both Team OPS and Team OBP every single month since April. For the record, Lee has 2 HRs since June 1st and Ramirez has a .305 OBP since June 1st.
  16. On the bright side, our pythag record hasn't taken a hit, as we've outscore our opponents 11-8 since the second half started, despite a 1-3 record.
  17. Ramirez is 3 for his last 46 (.065) on the road, dating back to that White Sox series.
  18. Everyone has been ripping on Jason Varitek for his extended slump and blaming it on declining abilities. He is 18 for his last 133. Ramirez has now matched half of his slump, going 9 for his last 66

  20. Do I sound like a cliche Cubs fan when I blame it on the night games and the fact that the Cubs aren't used to them. They seemed to do pretty good during the day game Sunday
  21. Has anyone seen an entire team with such wild home/road splits? I'm seriosuly asking.
  22. Seriously what are we going to do about Ramirez? .138 over his last 16 games (9 for 65) and now hitting .271 for the season.
  23. I know we aren't this bad, but we have some major offensive issues. We drew 2 walks today but really most of our ABs were short and impatient. Our 3 hitter can't hit HRs Our 4 hitter can't get on base to save his life Our high priced RF is basically being platooned Our 7th inning guy is a gas can Our hitting with RISP is nonexistant, yesterday not withstanding. The only thing that really bothers me is that Ramirez and Lee are just not getting it done. I realize Lee has a +900 OPS over the last month, but his overall numbers for the year just aren't good enough. The rest of the issues can probably be rectified.
  24. How many teams do you think have 3-4 hitters with worse overall numbers than Lee and Ramirez?
