  1. I'm not worried yet. 4.5 up with just at a month to play is still a decent sized lead. Yeah...I was hoping we could be 8 games up going into September. At least that's what I imagined when I looked at our schedule in August. We did our part..
  2. Why does it seem like Kosuke comes up in every big situation lately?
  3. Blah, 3-0 Brewers. Win or be 4.5 games up
  4. Moyer keeps trying to get that inside corner, but the ump seems to think its a ball. It was definitely a strike yesterday.
  5. This is what happens when you don't announce your pitcher until Sunday morning. Marshall was probably out late partying, not thinking he'd be starting. (BTW, I'm kidding) It was his birthday yesterday....might be right Not that Marshall is a known huge partier or anything, but I've seen pictures of him out before, so its reasonable to assume he was out for his birthday. Then again, I'm sure he had some idea he might be starting, and he is married so I'm sure he wasn't out chasing tail all night.
  6. A home run would also be adequate. Less likely with the wind. I am trying to be realistic here.
  7. OK now I feel better about last inning. Who can be our long man? Marhsall should be able to go more than 85-90 pitches, which might not take him into the 5th.
  8. This is what happens when you don't announce your pitcher until Sunday morning. Marshall was probably out late partying, not thinking he'd be starting. (BTW, I'm kidding)
  9. How many runners on third less than 2 outs situations have we blown this series?
  10. Should have been tied but Soriano couldn't get the job done. Even Ronny got the job done.
  11. Dammit Soriano. Ugh Ronny Cedeno vs. Lefties this year: .264 .309 .341 .650
  12. omg, I didn't even realize Ronny was playing. The last thing I want to see is him up with a runner on third and less than 2 outs.
  13. C'mon 2-0 pitch over the plate, you should be ripping that into the gap not staring at it
  14. LOL, I absolutely love the fact that the Pirates number 6 hitter is bunting over a runner after a leadoff single.
  15. I figured with a new home plate ump we would get a better strike zone. I was really wrong, and its really really going to work against us today.
  16. Werth is 6-10 with 3 doubles, 2 home runs, 3 BB, 6 RBIs this series for a line of .600/.692/1.778/2.470 Earlier this year he was 4-8, 1 double, 1 home run, 2 BB, 3 RBI, 2 SB against the Cubs for a line of .500/.636/1.000/1.636 So Werth vs. the Cubs this year: 10-18 4 doubles 3 home runs 5 walks 9 RBIs 2 SB .556 BA .652 OBP 1.277 SLG 1.929 OPS
  17. Not to get all pessimistic, but the Phillies have outplayed us this series to this point.
  18. The wind is blowing in, unless you are suggesting that both teams are going to kill the opposing pitchers.
  19. Howard is starting to hit lefties again. This could be bad for the NL
