  1. Geovany Soto was bred specifically for these situations.
  2. I think if this team has 2 sizable flaws its our LOOGY and the lack of a RH bench player to hit lefties. Ronny Cedeno cannot be the guy stepping to the plate late in the game to face a tough lefty.
  3. Why does Lou always put Ronny in these situations? I would rather see Z up here than Ronny.
  4. It was a pretty nice pitch. Reed was a little agressive though
  5. That might be among the worst strike calls I've seen all year.
  6. A lefty is pitching so it should be interesting. Looks like Reed
  7. :(. I was refraining from commenting on that. I haven't flipped to it since the beginning of the 3rd. Still stuck at 10 points I see
  8. hehe Pittsburg, right. Maybe Zambrano will pitch well tommorow, 3 of 4 would be great. I figured 2 of 4 would be good in this series anyway. Isn't Zambrano being skipped tomorrow?? I haven't heard he is. Look at page 2 of this thread.
  9. Yeah its kinda funny that we got rid of Eyre in favor of Cotts and Cotts has blown up since that point.
  10. LOL, Howard hit a HR off a lefty (Cotts)
  11. It's really not. Those were freaking balls. According to the umps zone, those were strikes. Once he found the corner of the umps strike zone, hes been consistantly hitting that spot all game. If the zone was 2 inches more inside, he'd have probably found a way to hit that too.
  12. I hadnt been impressed... we had him on the ropes several times and failed to cash in. I hate stranding runners in scoring position. How many pitches has Meyers thrown? He's gonna pitch 8 innings? Stupid offense, oh well suppose we were due for a loss. He has been pretty impressive I think. He seemed to be pitching to contact in the early innings. It's not like he really got hit hard. Mostly bloop singles. I don't think we have an XBH. In the later innings his control really locked down. Almost every first pitch has been a strike, and not a hittable strike. I am upset that the offense hasn't gotten more agressive as the game went along, but honestly you gotta tip your cap because Myers has looked good.
  13. Myers at 97 pitches...he should be good for one more before we get to Lidge. We might have to put this one in the concede column. But our team has obviously come back from greater odds.
  14. Myers pounding the outsider corner on almost every first pitch. It's frustrating to see it happen to us, but it is a thing of beauty to see from an outsiders perspective.
  15. It does bother me that the way this game is going, we will have 3 below average offensive games and 1 average offensive game in the last 4.
  16. Geez Myers is really impressive today.
  17. Brett Myers is a pretty solid starting pitcher.
  18. Our hitters are taking way too many strikes today...and not all of them are pitchers strikes
  19. Yeah, they have honestly blown multiple calls for each side this series.
  20. This is a really annoying inning. Single...weak single...HBP when hitter leans into one on 0-2 count...single Werth is definitely a Cub killer
