  1. Last few starts against Oswalt 4/08 - 6.2 IP 10 H 6 R 1 BB 8/07 - 6 IP 6 H 0 R 4 BB 7/07 - 5.1 IP 10 H 9 R 2 BB
  2. If we could avoid giving up a run in the 1st inning for once that would be nice.
  3. LOL, the Astros are 24-10 in their last 34 games, but the Cubs over that time frame are 25-9 and the Brewers are 21-13 so they've lost a game to the Cubs and gained only 3 games on the Brewers.
  4. OMg, Santana BALKED a run in
  5. Kosuke is 1-3 lifetime vs. Oswalt and Theriot is 1-5 lifetime? Plus Kosuke has been walking more lately (although thats all he's been doing) That's my best guess, but I realize I didn't make a great argument
  6. Actually I think he did miss a start or two back in April but didn't go on the DL
  7. Why? I don't know. I'd just rather get the World Series taking on the best head on, and not having to listen to Brewers fans bitch that they would have beaten us if Sheets was in there. Don't get me wrong though, I'd take the Cubs getting into the World Series by beating a bunch of Little Leaguers if we had to
  8. Wright can't get the runner from 3rd home with less than 2 outs. I feel a little bit bad for ripping Soriano the last few days.
  9. Boo that sucks, the Brewers were finally starting to get scary. Hopefully he's back for the NLCS because I want to face them at full strength.
  10. Milwaukee already up 1-0 and still threatening off Santana and the Mets in the first.
  11. Haha, who's still following us compared to the wild card?? We're making the playoffs, live with it. Is THIS a joke? omg Why? I understand that we're fans of the Cubs and we should watch what we say about stuff like this, but we're making the playoffs. Let's say the Cubs slump and go 10-15 down the stretch. The Phillies would still have to go 20-5 just to tie us. The Cards would have to go 21-4. Niether team is equipped for that kind of run. AHHHHH I NEVER SAID WE WERENT GOING OT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS I WOULD BET MY LIFE ON THEM MAKING THE PLAYOFFS WHY DOESNT ANYONE UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HELL IM WAS SAYING!!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Again, I understood what you were saying. I was just making fun of you for feeling the need to even point out that we lost a .5% of a chance in our playoff odds. Fine fine fine. I pointed it out because I've been following it every day, and I like when its at 99.9%. It looks cooler.

  15. wait, this has to be a joke post it is, right?? Oh geez dude, I meant they are going down like from 99.9% to 99.4% I know, which is why it has to be a joke, right? No I just meant that as someone who has been following the Cubs playoff odds on various sites for the last few weeks, I finally saw them get to 99.9%, but after losing a game in the standings to the 2nd place team in the Wild Card, it will surely go down. Reading the post again, I can understand a little why it was taken that way but use some logic. I've been trying to hard to not offend the Pessimism Police over the last 2 months, so it was weird when I made that post and came back to find multiple people calling me out on it like I think the Cubs will blow a 10 game lead in the final 26 games.
  16. OH NOES WE'RE NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS NOW. ONLY 10 GAME LEAD AFTER WE INEXPLICABLY SPLIT A SERIES VS A GOOD TEAM? THIS IS MADNESS http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v315/Shinobi108/1196174103842.gif Calm down guys, I was the guy posting that if the Cubs went 12-13, the Brewers would have to go 17-9 to tie us a couple of pages ago. Anyone who thought I was saying that we're not going to make the playoffs is pretty clueless. It's ridiculous how bad the people are that call out every and all forms of pessimism in a game thread. I said something that could be taken 2 different ways, and even though its pretty obvious that no one here is worried about making the playoffs, there were multiple people here jumping in and assuming thats what was being said.

  18. The Brewers have beaten Santana this year, and the Mets are going up against Sheets.
  19. Where were you 2 days ago when the Cubs had a 6.5 game cushion?
  20. We also lost a game in our playoff cushion as the Phillies have jumped the Cardinals for 2nd in the WC and the Cubs are now 10 games ahead of them. Looks like our playoff odds are going down.
  21. Uhh because playoff teams have good pitchers?
  22. What does everyone think of the Astros series. The Astros are on fire, having just swept the Cardinals and put up a better August record than us I believe. I am not at all looking forward to this series.
  23. Oooh. That could go either way. Exactly. Which probably means that the scorer will see it that way too and the call will stand. But hey, CC can handle 118 pitches no problem
  24. what did he do pumped his fist after the K nothing, really what, like he was pleased or something? the phillies are celebrating after everything, whatever. i'm very surprised that we beat the phillies in the first two games of the series, we never beat the phillies, and they simply weren't going to let the cubs get a series win against them. True. Honestly come into the series I was hoping for a split. We'll probably be getting the split but at no point did we really show our dominance. Oh well its just 4 games in the middle of a long season.
