    The offense hasn't really looked right since Saturday. If the offense is still slumping in Colorado we might be in trouble. I feel like we always have trouble in Colorado.

    Plenty thought the same last year about the Cubs I don't agree. I remember fans of the Mets, Phillies, and Dodgers all hoping to draw the Cubs towards the end of the season. I think it's because despite having several good hitters and pitchers, there are none that really people stay up at night worying about. Of course most fans are idiots.

    Here is how I see the Cubs and Cardinals faring through August Cardinals 1 @ NYM (1-0) 3 @ PIT (3-0) 3 v. CIN (2-1) 3 v. SD (1-2)...just a hunch, teams go on slides vs. bad teams occasionally 3 @ LAD (1-2) 4 @ SD (3-1) 3 v. HOU (2-1) 3 v. WAS (3-0) Cubs 1 @ CIN (1-0) 4 @ COL (1-3)...bad feeling about this series 3 v. PHI (2-1) 3 v. PIT (3-0) 3 @ SD (2-1) 4 @ LAD (2-2) 3 v. WAS (2-1) 3 v. NYM (2-1) 1 v. HOU (1-0) 16-9 for the Cubs, 16-7 for the Cardinals, leading to a 1 game Cardinals lead going into September.

    I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he tests the market and even leaves. I was reading an article talking about this a month or two ago, and it really had me convinced the prospect of him bolting is around 50/50. I doubt he'd come to the Cubs so NY, LA or Boston it is.

    I went over to Reds Zone's Game Threads forum, but the place was dead. Yeah, they've pretty much packed it in. Their game threads a couple of weeks ago were much much more lively. I feel bad for them and their apathy a bit, but then I remember that we're the Cubs and they won a championship in 1990. It's a great forum, actually. There are some really smart cookies who post on RZ. Yay! Yeah I read it from time to time, they are good. They really really aren't tolerant of Cubs fans though.
