Well, the fact of the matter is, if we can't win those games, we are not good enough to be a playoff team. It would make me feel better knowing that it wasn't because we blew a lot of winnable games, or that the schedules were unfair. Basically, the Cubs just came off an easy stretch where we won a ton of games and the Cardinals had a harder stretch where they played all good teams. In that stretch the Cubs gained around 3 games and took a slight lead in the division. Now the schedules have reversed and the Cubs are playing the tough teams while the Cardnials are playing cupcakes. Now theyve gotten those 3 games right back. It's the ups and downs of the season. The crappy part is, its hard to not get too excited when we have a run and took first place, and not to get down when we lose 3 games in 4 days.
