  1. Don't walk the tying run into scoring position plz. (and put the winning run on base)
  2. I like the strategy of walking the hitter before Adrian Gonzalez. That way, we don't have to play into the 17th inning only to see the Padres walk off. AGonz will take care of it for us right here.
  3. We're the luckiest team in baseball so of course we'll get that call.
  4. An .860 OPS with RISP is your idea of totally worthless ??? Yeah I know but 30 RBIs in 297 PAs is pretty bad. He does do a good job of walking with a runner on second and 2 outs though.
  5. Bradley leaves a couple more runners in scoring position tonight. Yeah he had that one hit against Philly, but other than that he's incredibly useless with RISPs. I'd love if a stat geek found out how many times a hitter who has had about 98% of his PAs hitting 2,3,4,5 or 6 has had a worse RBI ratio than 30 RBIs in 297 PAs.
  6. Right you are !! Gm# Date Opponent Score Starter Opp Starter .31 Wed 05/09 Pittsburgh 1- 0 Marquis Gorzelanny Ahh yes, the Jason Marquis complete game shutout. That was the closest I ever got to thinking that Jason Marquis might end up pretty good.
  7. Dammit I thought that was gone for a sec. Stupid chain link fence.
  8. The Rockies are closer to the Dodgers in the NL West than we are to the Cardinals.
  9. 4 pitch 9th inning for the Dodgers. Nice work.
  10. LOL, 2 pitches, 2 outs for the Dodgers so far. If the Cubs weren't in a battle with the Rockies, I'd hope the Dodgers blew their lead in the West.
  11. I can't wait for Gregg to face Adrian Gonzalez next inning (most likely) It's possible that no amount of marine layer in the world would stop that ball from getting out.
  12. Phew. I had a bad feeling about blowing that opportunity.
  13. we do that a ton this year. The other way to look at it is that the pitcher is struggling to throw strikes, and doesn't want to fall behind another batter so they may groove one over the plate so be agressive.
  14. Why can't we score in this damn ballpark? Didn't we get shutout 2 times and held to 1 run in another game the last series here in May?
  15. sorry I'm late on this, but maybe he should ask Geo.
  16. That was the worst range I've ever seen. It looked like Lilly had a play on it, but decided to let it go because he was sure one of his MI's would get it.
  17. I think you are overrating Grossmans ability. He was already beaten out by Dan Orvolosky for the 2nd QB spot and is third on their depth chart (this was before the injury he suffered on Saturday).
  18. Not sure if you were going for that, but this definitely reminds me of my favorite onion article of all time. http://www.theonion.com/content/node/33426 an excerpt:
  19. Oh yeah isn't that one of the board's pet peeves or something?
  20. I could care less about the Cardinals unless we come to within 2 games of them. We just need to worry about winning our own ballgames. If we have too many more stretches like we had last week, we aren't going to the playoffs no matter how good/bad the Cardinals do.
  21. I know your not arguing against this, but I just wanted to say I don't care if he throws a good number of INTs. Our QBs typically throw a lot of INTs, but they don't pass for nearly as many TVs, have as many completions, or have a high completion %. So we're getting the same number of INTs, but more of everything else.
  22. unless your backup is Tom Brady or Jeff Hostettler Tom Brady wasn't Tom Brady until he was given the chance to become Tom Brady. I'm not saying Calib Haine is going to be a franchise QB, I mean Tom Brady was the starting QB of some pretty good Michigan teams, but he was about as regarded as Chad Henne in terms of pro potential.
