  1. Being someone who is personally petrified of bees, the bleachers at Dodger Stadium would be my worst nightmare right now.
  2. I'm surprised... I just went to Dodgerblues expecting to see their game threads full of making fun of how bad the Cubs are, and they haven't really brought it up. They aren't exactly complimenting us, but they aren't ripping on us either. I honestly think the Pirates would have given the Dodgers a better series thus far than our Cubs.
  3. That's easy, HR. My desire for the Cubs to win trumps my desire for Miles to keep being totally useless. I hear you but Miles has tested that for me so much. Like on that grounder he just fielded, I couldn't stop myself from hoping he airmailed the throw into the stands.
  4. hit a HR Honorable. What if I told you that Jim Hendry was waiting at home plate with a 2 year contract extension for Miles when he finished his trot?
  5. Miles last 67 plate appearances (over 30 game span): .125/.149/.171/.320
  6. In game poll: Would you rather Miles hit a HR here or strike out and look horrible doing it?
  7. The baseball gods do not like mary jane I guess because Geo's getting hosed.
  8. When's the last time we won a game that he announced? Judging by his age, I am guessing it was one of the '45 World Series games.
  9. That's 5 of our 8 regular position starters with sub .600 OPS's over a week or more period. Lee, Fukudome and Baker are all still pulling their weights. Strangely enough they are typically positioned just far enough away from each other to make their individual contributions useless. Auto out, Auto out, Lee, Auto out, Fukudome, Auto out, Baker, Auto out, Auto out
  10. Soto hitting .118/.244/.264/.508 over his last 12 games.
  11. Theriot hitting .281/.303/.281/.584 over his last 7 games
  12. Soriano hitting .116/.133/.186/.319 over his last 11 games.
  13. Ramirez hitting .199/.272/.325/.597 over his last 12 games.
  14. Bradley hitting .121/.256/.242/.498 over his last 9 games.
  15. I've never rooted so hard for a Cub to get out as Aaron Miles. I'm really disappointed he just walked.
  16. That got me thinking. Who has come to play this year? I can only come up with a few. Theriot, Lilly, Lee, Guzman, Fuld, Fukudome, and Wells. Guys who have mailed it in? BRADLEY! SORIANO!, SOTO!, are the three worst offenders. You can include Dempster, Gregg, Heilman, Miles, Hoffpauir, Samardzija, and Fontenot. Marginal guys... Marmol, Marshall, Harden, Ramirez, Zambrano, Hill So if they did well this year, they came to play...if they did bad they mailed it in, and if they were mediocre or had a lot of injuries, they are considered marginal?
  17. That was a very nice hit by Soto. It almost dropped in there.
  18. hhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee ruuuuuuuuuuuuun
  19. The Padres are still trying. Can all of our guys say the same thing? Yeah I think most if not all are still trying. They just suck. They are awful then. 3 runs against the three pitchers we have faced this series. That's pathetic. Yup, 3 runs in our first 22 innings of the series
  20. The Padres are still trying. Can all of our guys say the same thing? Yeah I think most if not all are still trying. They just suck.
  21. It reminds me of Major League II when everyone in the dugout is busy bickering and fighting and the catcher (Baker?) bunts for a hit, steals 2nd and hustles home for the tying run on a single (I think that's right) despite dealing with an injured ankle. The whole team is looking blah and he's flying all over the field making plays.
  22. Holy f...that was an insane catch. He faceplanted into a chainlink fence.
  23. Does that make Badley 2-20 on the road trip? Like the Chicago summer, Bradley's entire good streak lasted about 2 weeks.
  24. Can't wait to see us get knucleballed to death. I wonder when the last time the Cubs have gone against a knucleballer.
  25. Wow the players quotes seem like they are expecting another 06-07 offseason of free spending. Hope they don't get their hopes up...
