  1. Wow...Lions CB Aaron Berry tweets after the game: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/853642/Aaron_Berry.PNG Classy
  2. Not quite sure why people even get so annoyed at such things. I guess I mineswell learn to spell. How much time do you spend on this forum every day?
  3. A couple of players including Rose looked gassed last night. If they are gassed now, I don't want to see how they look in 6 days when they've played 5 more games during that span. Maybe part of it is the fact that they've been traveling nonstop since the season started and have had little time to rest at home. 7 of the first 9 on the road.
  4. It was a front page headline on ESPN.com yesterday. Not one of the main stories, but on the list of "Headlines" on the top right side of the page.
  5. I'm not sure why anyone would want a 28 year old rookie 1B with a half year of proven ability at the MLB level.
  6. You've seen the light. The Church of Tebow will explode in membership after our savior leads his football squad to the promised land!
  7. Yeah I think 20 of the first 30 are on the road. We still have a 9 (!) game road trip that starts at the end of this month. That's gonna be brutal. Why? Didn't we avoid the circus trip this year? Yeah but we have the February trip too which most years is just about as long. For some reason they made it super long. After that though I think we get like 7 home games in a row.

  9. From Phil Rodgers article tonight on the Rizzo deal:
  10. 1 power play goal is the last 8 games. That is 1 power play goal in 23 attempts and 15 power plays in a row without a goal. Strangely enough, they've only had 1 PP opportunity total in the last 2 games. Our goal differential for the season is just +12, and only 7 teams in the NHL have allowed more goals this year than the Hawks. And then there's this tweet by Jesse Rodgers:
  11. No doubt. Its the first thing I thought and posted when I heard this. even if they decide not to press charges and the girl admits that nothing happened, to our rivals, our best player will forever be referred to as a rapist.
  12. Theo also said Z would be given a chance to earn his way back onto the team, and then traded him to the Marlins. I'm not saying Theo can't get it done, and I'm not saying one way or the other if it'll be good for Kerry to be back on the team. I'm just saying that Theo's word can't be taken at 100%. Sure but Kerry's can due to the fact that he accepted a crapload less money to come back to the Cubs and has consistently stated his desire to stay on the Cubs and only the Cubs. There is really no benefit for Theo to lie about this. He's not trading Kerry or raising his value. Maybe to hold off the meatballs for a time, but eventually if he let Wood leave, he'd get crapped on for it. Any fan who doesn't understand why Kerry Wood isn't a fit for this team has yet to figure out the direction Theo and Jed are taking this team and are going to crap on most of what they do. How is he not a fit for this team? If Kerry was asking for market value that would be another thing, but I am assuming like last year he's going to be signed somewhere in the 1.5-2 mil range.

  14. Nice job getting shutout at home Hawks. 3 home losses in their last 4 games. UGLY
  15. Yeah seriously. I think he was actually quoted saying that if he wasn't on the Cubs he would retire. Plus Theo said something like 2 days ago like "If we can't get this done we're doing something wrong" Sorry I don't buy it and won't until it actually happens.
  16. Colorado has been on fire lately. 8-2 in their last 10 or something like that. Oops. I stand corrected. I just remember earlier in the year they were on fire and towards the top of the standings and then the other day I looked they were 9th, so I made the assumption that they were slumping.
  17. And he's got a lousy slapshot too. [expletive], that was up for like 3 seconds, how the hell did you reply before I changed it
  18. Wow, looking like 1-4-1 in our last 5, with 3 regulation losses at home. This one would be to a sliding Avs team. This team is so [expletive] streaky that it's just not worth watching them when they start one of their slides. Just gotta wait for it to get better again.
  19. I imagine the majority will have Rizzo ahead of BJax. Personally, I'm not sold that Rizzo's bat is that much better than BJax's bat to offset for the positional value BJax has over him (although Rizzo is a slick fielder at first), so personally, I'll still have BJax ahead. what do you see from Rizzo's bat that you don't like? Just taking a quick glance at his slash stats, it looks like he's hit wherever he's been accept his admittedly disappointing 118 ABs in the majors this year.
  20. Yup, but correct me if I'm wrong, they got a couple other really nice prospects in that deal as well. But yeah I'm pretty sure Rizzo was the centerpiece. Adrian Gonzalez -> Red Sox Anthony Rizzo, Casey Kelly, Reymond Fuentes, Eric Patterson -> Padres Oh yeah you're right. EPatt was the centerpiece.
  21. He also gave up early on cargo. And Carlos Quentin right?
  22. Gas Lamp Ball's take: The corresponding poll has 70% of their fans thinking we won the trade.
  23. Yeah it almost makes me wonder what they are hiding. But then I remembered Josh Byrnes is their GM
