  1. I was going to bemoan the fall of Iowa basketball but then I remembered your recent NCAA past includes Northwestern State and Pierre Pierce.
  2. I honestly don't think UK blowing out IU will change the impact that game had for your program. It was an upset yes, but it proved Indiana was legit and could beat any team in the country. If they lose by 20 in a rematch on a neutral floor, it doesn't erase that moment, nor does it mean IU isn't legit. It just means that the most talented team in the country came in focused and won. I don't think anyone believes that IU is better than UK, so losing that game is not going to change the perception of the program, or erase the fact that IU is good enough to beat UK on some nights.
  3. The only way he'd resign with Chicago if he came here to finish out the season is if Rose and the rest of the Bulls went out of their way to hype up Howard as "the man" in Chicago which isn't going to happen. Here's the thing, I'd like to call Howard a douchebag for not wanting to go to the best situation to win, but I can't rip on LeBron for joining Wade and moving to #2 on his team and then rip Howard for not wanting that. It's a little different of a situation, but similar IMO.
  4. First 9 games of Linsanity: 82-163 (50.3% FG%) Since then (11 next games): 50-128 (39.1%)
  5. Almost did the same thing in the South bracket. 1,2,3,4 made the sweet 16, but Baylor beat Duke before losing to Kentucky. What a wild bracket! Edit: OK Dicky V had the East bracket and went with 3 FSU and 5 Vanderbilt in the E8 with FSU advancing to the final 4. Thank God for Vitale.
  6. lol on Sportscenter they are picking the entire bracket. So far they've done 2 regions. In the West its 1,2,3,4 seeds advancing, 2 beats 3 and 1 beats 4 with 1 MSU going to the final 4. In the midwest same thing. No upsets, everything according to seeding. Way to go out on a limb guys.
  7. same here...he looked out of position on quite a few of those attempts.
  8. If anyone cares, they are replaying the Bears/Colts Super Bowl right now (10pm CST Sunday night - condensed into an hour). I know its painful but at least the first few minutes were cool. I dont know about you but any reminding that the Bears were in a Super Bowl is enjoyable to me.
  9. You don't deserve to win if you go 0-7 in penalty shots in the game (including Stalberg's penalty shot) Hawks had 3 chances to end it with a score and didnt. Fairly disappointing to lose that way after a pretty good effort in the 3rd and OT. Also, a lot of the Hawks shot attempts were terrible. I dont know wtf Hossa and Kane were trying to do. Shaw had the least deceptive penalty shot I've ever seen. Sharp had a great attempt and it slid off his stick. Boo
  10. Well the good news is that LA can only gain 1 point on us tonight. The bad news is that we can only earn 1 point of separation from LA tonight.
  11. Terrible time to take a penalty Stalberg. Gotta earn this point
  12. Wait Illinois didnt make the NIT? WOW Also, NITology sucks I guess, they didnt even have Iowa in the discussion for the NIT. There were about 12 teams listed as OUT but in the discussion and Iowa was nowhere to be seen.
  13. If we were to get Mario Williams, the games against GB next year would be much more competitive than they were this year.
  14. LOL that was awesome, Bollig got into a fight with Clifford and was smiling the entire time as he got quite a few good shots on the opponent. That makes me like him.
  15. I'm sure this is a coincidence, but disappointing if it isn't. If you look at the last team in (Iona) and the first 6 out, they are almost exactly ranked by RPI. Iona 41 Oral Roberts 51 Miami 60 Nevada 66 Drexel 66 Mississippi St 74 Seton Hall 68 So Mississippi St and Seton Hall weren't in order, but when the committee guy was talking about them, I didn't get a sense that he definitively said Miss St was 5th out and Seton Hall was 6th. Either way, if they were just picking the best RPIs, it would explain some weird things like Oral Roberts being the 1st team out with a 203 SOS and Nevada being 3rd to last team out.
  16. Miami was 2nd team out. You told us so. :-) Yup, and once again I am an idiot.
  17. Also the committee said that the 5th and 6 teams out were Mississippi State and Seton Hall. That means a team like Miami was nowhere near getting selected
  18. Wow, Oral Roberts was the 1st team out, followed by Miami, Nevada and Drexel. Lunardi didn't have Oral Roberts in his first 8 teams out.
  19. Looks like BYU and Iona were the last 2 in
  20. Yeah Xavier is a pretty bad draw. ND hasn't been playing well and Xavier just went to the A10 title game (although pretty disappointing performance). ND can win but I'd think Xavier is favored slightly.
  21. Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana were 13, 14, and 15 in the S-Curve respectively. So UM was the highest 4 seed and almost a 3 seed. I'd guess if UNC had won today, UM would be where FSU is.
  22. When are the times announced?
  23. Was it TRUtv that has that NCAA show that was talked about a few pages ago?
  24. Good work. I must say though I wasnt high on Miami at all and wouldnt have put them in my bracket :) Although I know I wouldnt have put Iona in instead.
