  1. No, not at all. Just sucks to watch. I think people were expecting a big leap this year, and while there's still time, right now his OPS is 30 points below his rookie season. I feel pretty certain he'll bounce back and put up respectable numbers overall though.
  2. No, but it is a slight justification to their terrible payroll decisions and the fact that Sale and Quintana are the new Koufax and Drysdale, which is annoying. They have had a garbage farm system for years, but somehow remain competitive and make the playoffs about as often as far more well run teams, which is also annoying. They've been to the playoffs 4 times in the last 27 years. Twice in the last 11 years. Haven't made the playoffs two years in a row in franchise history. This year is rather annoying because in the offseason they got as close to admitting they were rebuilding than ever before and somehow they are going to make the playoffs despite that.
  3. Both the Bulls and Hawks offseasons have been a giant disappointment so far. Still time though....
  4. I'm sad to say that I just don't look the way Wood looks. I am certain that if he was on a team I hated I would detest him irrationally because of his general appearance. Anyways, keep dominating and I'll overlook this.
  5. Well not really since he'll be participating in the events
  6. Last 11 games for Castro: .125/.244/.125 (5-40, 0 XBH, 2 RBI, 6 BB(!!))
  7. Starlin down to .288 for the season...
  8. In about 3 years, people are going to think your last name is Lahair when you wear those in public.
  9. Can you fix your avatar so I can identify you quicker?
  10. A) I'm assuming the Bulls cant afford him B) Strangely enough SG is like the 3-4th most important thing to worry about this offseason after backup PG, probably replacing Omer and replacing Korver our only outside shooter. Because Reinsdorf is cheap and doesn't want to hit the tax. A) I'm assuming the Bulls cant afford him

  12. You help the psyche of the hitters and ruin the psyche of the pitchers. I wouldnt want pitchers running around like they're the [expletive] when their numbers are due to the environment. Besides, even the pitchers are fpr it from an article I read a couple weeks ago and now frustratingly cannot find.
  13. Plus, if we take out all of his home runs this season he has zero home runs. Not a lot of run production to market to buyers without any home runs. This caused me to literally laugh outloud.
  14. It's amazing how Trevor Plouffe has come from nowhere to just dominate over the last 2 months. Last 36 games: .311/.365/.726/1.091 16 HR, 30 RBI 72 HR pace over a full season
  15. I love Vitters' OPS by month. April: .611 (74 PA) May: .884 (115 PA) June: .970 (116 PA) July: 1.159 (14 PA - before tonight)
  16. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog/_/name/olney_buster/id/8129358/previewing-trade-market-every-national-league-team-mlb wtf? The Rangers won with a ~$52 million bid....so that means the Cubs offered $17 million? The Dice K winning bid was $51.1m and this was expected to be as much or more. It's makes you wonder if the Texas was the only real serious bidder.
  17. LeBrun reporting Parise agrees with Minnesota as well. Dammit why did I have to get my hopes up. I was perfectly ok that the Hawks weren't in the hunt for either.
  18. Minn newspaper is reporting Suter to MN officially now. That's probably bad news for teams in Parise race. Detroit and Pitt have both said they are out of Parise race. More bad news.
  19. Rammy hit a walk off for the Brewers tonight. The Brewers were down 12-11 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th and Ramirez went deep to save the game.
  20. Castro's line over the last 30 games: .237/.272/.373/.645
  21. Samardzija didn't seriously start pitching full-time until he was 22.
  22. what a horrible argument. toews played 22 fewer games, 27% of the season, than hossa. So the best player on a team is the best player that manages to stay healthy for more than 70% of the season? Luol Deng was the best player on the Bulls last year right?
  23. And? I like this argument. Who is the best forward on the Hawks, Hossa or Toews? The fact that this could even be debated demonstrates seanimal's point. Frankly, the Hawks don't have any bad contracts among the core. They have some annoying overpays, but terrible overpays, for guys like Frolik, Olesz, and Hjalmarsson. And possibly Crawford. I don't get it. If there is a realistic debate between Hossa and Toews then saying Hossa is without a doubt the best player on the Hawks is silly. I'm fine with it being up for debate.
  24. Hossa was great last year but you can't go throwing around "best player" and "Hossa" that confidently when Toews was a contender for the Hart trophy before his concussion.
  25. That and they sell out the largest arena in the NBA just about every game. Anyways, from that article in linked on the last page, these are the most profitable teams and their average annual profit over a 5 year period. 1. Bulls - $55 million 2. Lakers - $38 million 3. Pistons (?!) - $34 million 4. Knicks - $30 million 5. Rockets - $29 million So it's pretty much Bulls by a pretty significant margin. But still JR has never gone into the luxury tax. I've understood the decision most years, but I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever go that much over (it looks like we'll be going over this year)
