  1. I was just thinking the Bears are pretty much in FG range and then of course we get a false start.
  2. Wow, that was an interesting play. Nice job by Jay to wiggle out of it and find an open receiver
  3. Looks like the ankle isn't affecting Forte's performance.
  4. Ewww, not loving that pass by Jay
  5. This is the 10th drive for the Bears starting inside their own 20 this year and 5th inside the 10.
  6. Another drive starting inside the 10 yard line....
  7. Phew, I thought that was 6 for a second
  8. Is it just me or is the Cowboys stadium really quiet?
  9. Ugh, 3 and out because Kellen cant catch. Overall though the line hasn't been terrible yet.
  10. i feel like there is a block in the back called on like 50% of all punt returns. I wish they could do something to stop that.
  11. Ugh, it bounced right to the Center
  12. Looks like Mike Tice found some John Shoop plays taped to the back of his playbook. Oh well, decent drive considering we were able to move the ball a bit and we flipped field position instead of going 3 and out and giving the ball to Dallas in Bears territory.
  13. I like the short high percentage passes, but the Cowboys are starting to catch on and adjust. Edit: But I have no [expletive] clue what they were doing on 3rd and 13 wtf
  14. I agree big time. Something about their home unis just stands out beautifully
  15. I'm starting to think Jay is to blame for these stupid TOs they always take
  16. Jeffery is not 8 feet tall Jay
  17. Ugh, Forte can only give us 1 play today it looks like. Let's see how many Bush can give us.
  18. Melton! Fantastic job with the pressure on that play. Why does Hester always let those go and force us to start inside the 5 yard line? It's gotta be the 5th or 6th time this year. Some I understand you let go and hope it goes in the end zone because the punt has a lot of hang time, but Hester seems to make the wrong decision a lot, and its almost always being more conservative than anything.
  19. Ugh, killer 3rd down conversion there. Need to get some more pressure
  20. Pretty sure this is injury related. They didn't bench him. Oh...my bad then. I thought I read that it wasn't injury related.
  21. Wow, surprised about Bennett. I know he's sucked but the Bears paid him a good amount of money last year and Jay seemed to feel comfortable throwing to him. This probably doesn't have anything to do with anything, but Bennett was playing well for a few weeks until he got his extension and since that extension he's done jack [expletive]. His 4 weeks before the extension (3 with Cutler) he had 15 catches 256 yards and 1 TD. In the next 8 games (5 with Hanie), Bennett has had just 12 catches for 187 yards and 0 TD.
  22. The story has been going through the Chicago media today that tickets for this game are going for 9 cents on StubHub. I wonder why they are making a big deal out of it considering: 1) It's common on Stubhub to see people pretty much give away tickets to games for out of contention teams at the end of the year. I've seen it primarily with baseball and basketball teams, but by no means is this unique to the Cubs. 2) The tickets won't really cost you 9 cents. There are approximately $15 in stubhub fees for that 9 cent ticket, meaning you are really paying $15.09, which is way more than I care to pay for a Cubs game at this point, and more expensive than I could pay from a scalper outside the park. 3) Not sure if the story was meant to be a knock at the Cubs because they are so bad that fans dont care anymore, but at least a lot of our tickets were bought up already rather than averaging ~28K tickets sold for a critical homestand with the playoffs on the line like the Sox did last week.
  23. I'm an idiot and my entire post is worthless. Thanks lol.
  24. Weird...all the NFL Network guys took the Cowboys, as did a majority of pundits I've seen this week.
  25. This is only interesting for nerds like me, but I was thinking back and wondering when the last time the Bears and Cowboys competed for a playoff spot (obviously Wild Card) and it took me back to 2008. In that year, the Eagles, who the Bears beat that year, finished 9-6-1 and took the 2nd wild card over the 9-7 Bears and Cowboys. Had they actually lost that Bengals game instead of tying it, there would have been a 3 way tie in which the Eagles would be eliminated for having a worse division record than the Cowboys, setting up a head to head matchup against the Bears. They didn't play that year, so that wasn't a problem, they both finished with 7-5 records against the NFC, so they move on to record in common games, which the Bears and Cowboys tied at 3-2. So next we go to the Strength of Victory tiebreaker. The Cowboys beat their 9 opponents by a combined 100 points that year, while the Bears beat their by.......101 points. Thus the Bears would have won the tiebreaker by 1 point and made the playoffs. Looking back on that year, its amazing that we didn't make the playoffs. Here are a 3 ways they could have made it. 1. The aforementioned scenario. The Bears get the 6th seed if Philadelphia loses to Cincinnati instead of inexplicably tying them. 2. The Atlanta game....I'm sure most remember that the Bears took the lead with 11 seconds left on an Orton pass to Rashied Davis, but a stupid decision to squib kick led to a quick completion and a heart breaking 50+ yard FG for the win. If the Bears win that game, not only do they make the playoffs, but they win the Division by besting the Vikings in Strength of Victory, +102 to +87 (tied division record, conference record and record vs. common opponents). 3. Same scenario with the Buccaneers game. If the Bears don't blow a 10 point lead with 3 minutes left, or Tillman doesnt get that stupid penalty when the Bucs are about to punt in OT, the Bears win the division by virtue of strength of victory as well. Strangely enough, I thought about how the Vikings made a FG as the clock expired to beat the Giants in their last game of the year, but the Bears would not have made the playoffs if they missed that kick, as they'd both finish 9-7 and the Vikings would win the record vs. common opponents tiebreaker. I know really random stuff, but sometimes my mind goes on random tangents when I'm bored at work waiting for the Bears on MNF.
