  1. I didn't even realize that the Coaches poll didnt vote for teams on bowl probation (at least im assuming thats why OSU isnt ranked). That just looks weird. I'm hoping a couple of Michigan, Michigan State (ok maybe not), Wisconsin and Nebraska can go on a streak and stop embarrassing the conference
  2. Yay Michigan the only 2 loss team in the Top 25 Also, when is Northwestern ever going to face a good team? I know they finally lost last week but if they wouldn't have blown that game, they could have gone to 7-0 without playing anyone good. Syracuse (2-3) Vanderbilt (2-3) Boston College (1-4) South Dakota (1-4 in 1-AA) Indiana (2-3) Penn State (3-3 - if they had lost to NW) Minnesota (4-1 but come on)
  3. It's all part of the NFLs plan to force everyone to get the Red Zone Channel and/or Sunday Ticket
  4. I went from thinking Bears blowout, to worried about a trap because everyone was predicting blowout, to thinking blowout again. Bears 27 Jags 13
  5. Who would have guessed Josh Donaldson would eventually play more playoff games with the As (assuming he plays another game this series) than Rich Harden with the Cubs?
  6. Damn right Michigan. That's how you take care of business on the road. Not that Purdue is a great team (decent though). It's just good to see them heading towards a solid road win against a Big Ten foe that's not Indiana or Minnesota.
  7. It's funny that a World Series winning team can have 5 different times to celebrate by rushing the mound and drinking champagne in the clubhouse. -After clinching a playoff spot -After winning the Wild Card game -After winning the LDS -After winning the LCS -After winning the World Series or... -After clinching a playoff spot -After clinching the division -After winning the LDS -After winning the LCS -After winning the World Series
  8. [expletive] Bourne. I was starting to think the Braves would actually tie the game when Bourne was ahead 3-1 and Motte was struggling to throw strikes, but he just blew 2 straight fastballs by him.
  9. Of course they do. Looking for any excuse to end the game because their bullpen is trying to blow up. What they don't want to do is uphold a protest and make them replay the rest of the game from this spot. I guarantee you even if the play could be upheld, they won't do it because of the chaos it would cause.
  10. 2nd worst officiating call in the last month
  11. Of course infield fly is called
  12. My point, besides that they make me feel waves of rage and envy, was that they were able to maintain that awesome farm system without tanking seasons. Because that's what good organizations do. Exactly. Unfortunately for us, our previous management put the new management in a position where starting all over was the best course of action. If/When this plan works, I would expect to see a similar management style.
  13. Why couldnt the Pirates have been our long time historical archrivals?
  14. The Braves had the least number of errors in the NL this year.....they now have 4 errors in this game including 3 this inning to put 2 guys on base and later score them. This sucks...I wanted to see the Nationals do well this postseason.
  15. Dan Uggla pretending he's in the 2008 All Star game again.
  16. The Cubs have won one postseason series in any of our lifetimes, including Fred. Two if you want to count the WC tiebreaker game in 1998. Today's game could be the Cardinals' 10th in the last decade. Oh, and they haven't lost 90+ since 1990, though their farm system mysteriously hasn't shriveled up and died as a result. Don't forget that they are now gifted an extra draft pick because they are somehow at a competitive disadvantage because of their market size or something.
  17. I love this man. Awesome.
  18. From watching on TV, the A's ballpark looks a million times better with the upper deck tarped off. If it was open, the crowd disperses more and the empty seats in the upper deck are very noticeable.
  19. Interesting about the luck. Also with regards to the defense. In past years, the Bears have performed much better against the run than against the pass. I would expect the run defense to improve.
  20. My predictions Orioles 7 Rangers 5 Cardinals 9 Braves 2 Yankees over Orioles in 4 (LWWW) Tigers over A's in 5 (LLWWW) Cardinals over Nationals in 4 (WWLW) Giants over Reds in 5 (WWLLW) Yankees over Tigers in 6 (WLWLWW) Cardinals over Giants in 5 (WLWWW) Cardinals over Yankees in 7 (WWLLLWW) Maybe I am just being a masochist, who knows, but I've seen this story before. Twice in fact in the last 7 years.
  21. Have any of the other Wild Card teams announced their starters?
  22. Goodness gracious. Yet another "Derrick Rose is dumb" crack. Who cares? He's not dumb on the court. So the guy couldn't break xxx on his SAT. Big deal. If he's so smart on the court, why did he tear his ACL? In this thread, SSR kills pretty much everyone. I agree sometimes. Other times it seems like he's trying too hard.
  23. I saw this today and I just had to laugh: http://s9.postimage.org/ey0v3mun1/photo.jpg
  24. Interesting quote from Soriano after the game:
  25. I'm rooting for them in the AL except the Orioles. It's all about the fact that the A's have made it multiple times this millenium, and the last time the Orioles made it the name Jeffery Mayer was prominently involved. But what the A's have done is insanely impressive. The Rangers should verse themselves on the saga of the 2006 Tigers, who blew a once insurmountable division lead on the last day of the season and took the WC spot all the way to the World Series where they eventually cancelled the World Series because whoever that NL team was that year all got busted for steroids. Of course that Tigers team didn't have to win a single game playoff to get into the ALDS, but hey at least Dempster won't be starting for them. Anyways, the A's will be most likely playing the Tigers in a rematch of the 2006 ALCS, the last playoff series Oakland has participated in.
