  1. Gotta be better options out there than digging up those corpses. I don't see the need to pick up a high level WR unless Bennetts injury is worse than we know about. Otherwise, you just move everyone up one spot and pick up a guy to be the 5th or 6th WR. Didn't we like one of the WRs in the preseason that didn't make the cut? I cant remember. Anyways... Marshall - Bennett - Hester - Sanzenbacher - Weems - Scrub pickup
  2. LMAO am I seeing this correctly? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bTsE338K5Q&feature=player_embedded After Briggs scores his pick 6, multiple Bears meet him in the end zone to celebrate, and Briggs goes over and taps #80 on the Jags, Mike Thomas - the guy chasing Briggs down, on the helmet and then brings him into the circle of celebrating Bears. The funny thing is that Thomas doesn't seem to resist or get upset about it. I'm trying to see if any of those Bears have a connection to him, and the only thing I can think of is that Thomas went to Arizona, the alma mater of Briggs, but this is his 4th year, so while he might have made a connection with him as an alum of Arizona, I'm not sure that connection means much to this. Even if there was a legitimate connection, you would think it would be really unacceptable to join in on your opponents TD celebration. Anyways, hilarious either way. 3. Thankfully there's 15 days until the next game. He'll probably miss that Lions game, and maybe the game after that, but the good news is that Earl Bennett should absolutely be back in the lineup after the bye.
  4. Did anyone see this by Terry Bradshaw on Fox's pregame show? wtf? Grow up? What the heck is Cutler doing that's not mature? Sorry he's not a media suckup and doesn't really open himself up to the public, but taking shots at him like that is just odd. Oh poor Terry got an interview request turned down (presumably) and now wants to act like an interview with him is the biggest honor you can get in the NFL. Sorry but I can't stand the people who hate on Cutler because he refuses to reform into the stereotypical NFL personality.
  5. It will almost certainly be his swan song with the Bears. I wouldn't put it past another team to pick him up thinking that after another offseason of healing his knee will be better, or worst case scenario can provide leadership to a younger defense or something. And as far as observing his slowness, this was the first game I noticed it throughout the game as opposed to catching it a couple of individual plays a game. It was hard to miss.
  6. That's odd that they play 5 of their 6 division games within the last 6 games of the year.
  7. Lot of ex-Cubs (major and minor leaguers) on these playoff teams. Orioles: Ryan Flaherty Yankees: Clay Rapada Casey McGehee (not on ALDS roster, consideration for ALCS) David Aardsma (ineligable for postseason roster) Rangers: (technically on the Rangers postseason roster) Ryan Dempster Geovany Soto Oakland A's: Josh Donaldson Tigers: Al Albuquerque Reds: Sean Marshall Nationals: Tom Gorzelanny Chad Tracy Mark DeRosa (didnt make NLDS roster. Supposedly a good chance to make NLCS roster) Giants: Ryan Theriot Angel Pagan Braves: (again technically) Paul Maholm Jeff Baker Reed Johnson
  8. I still can't figure out why this is such a big deal to people. You don't see why a week's worth of dedicated prime time national media coverage on a campus is a big deal to fans of that college? No. That's quite odd.
  9. LMAO. I forgot I posted that.
  10. Odd that the Bears have 5 primetime games in their first 10, and then none in the last 6. Also it sucks that not only do we have a bye but we don't play until Monday the next week. 2 straight weeks of no Bears on Sunday. I hate sitting through Sundays without the Bears. At least we finally have a Monday night home game. 6 of our last 7 primetime games have been on the road, including our last 3 MNF games dating back to early 2010.
  11. FU Russell Martin. The O's need to take this game.
  12. Yeah thats a solid point.
  13. Odd to see but Henry Melton didn't make the stat sheet at all today, at least according to ESPN's box score. No sacks, no TOs, no tackles, etc
  14. Ugh, my fiance's family is from Cincinnati. They liked to rub it in when the Cubs suck, and don't get me started about the abuse I took when the Bengals blew out the Bears a couple of years ago. At first I kinda cheered for them because they made my fiance happy, but [expletive] them now. Edit: and of course the Reds winning it despite Dusty, ugh x2
  15. Other than the Cardinals, that's the team that I would least like to see win it. Another one of those teams we used to laugh at for being bad winning a title ahead of us.
  16. Yeah, in 2006 we scored 41 points in the 1st half against SF. And in that game, the Bears were shut out in the 2nd half.
  17. 41 points! Allen! LMAO that he was starting to slow down and thinking about running out of bounds, and the Jags player decided to push him into the end zone. I appreciate the sportsmanship, but that's your first NFL TD dude, you deserve to run it in.
  18. What are we going to be about these pesky Vikings who won't let us hold 1st place by ourselves? We still don't play them for another 7 weeks.
  19. Everyone talks about how the Bears haven't had a 1,000 yard receiver since 2002. Well if Marshall is done for today, he'll be halfway to 1,000 after just 5 games. Currently: 35 catches for 496 yards and 3 TD. On pace for: 112 catches for 1,587 yards and 10 TD I don't even know where to start looking for where that ranks in Bears history. All single season Bears receiving records begin ands end with that flukey Marcus Robinson/Jim Miller season no? Yup, Robinson had 1,400 yards which is the most in Bears history. Looks like Marty Booker in 2002 had the only 100 catch season in Bears history, with an even 100. Interestingly enough (or not), Marshally is already 98th in single season receiving yards for the Bears lol

  21. HAHAHAHA!!! Briggsy 2 weeks in a row!
  22. Cutler by half: 1st half: 10-20, 110 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 45.8 RAT 2nd half: 13-19, 182 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 134.1 RAT
  23. LMAO, for the second week in a row, Rivera doesnt attempt to run the ball on 4th and 1 despite having the best rushing QB in the league, and 2 RBs making a zillion dollars combined and it fails.
  24. It's like the Bears wanted to see if they could win by only trying one half of the game.
