  1. Who cares about the Yankees anymore? They don't win every year, they don't buy every superstar that comes on the market anymore. Yes they still have the largest payroll in the game by a big margin, but that hasn't guaranteed them anything except 1 World Series title in the last 12 years. I'm not rooting for them or anything, but I honestly would be pretty indifferent if they won this year.

  3. Nope just Josh Hancock
  4. I am shocked that you were able to spin the current discussion into your thoughts about the Cubs rebuilding plan.
  5. I want to say the Giants have the pitching to shut them down but they didnt seem to have a problem with the Phillies last year. They just won't lose under any circumstances and I refuse to believe otherwise.
  6. My enduring memory of this game will be Suzuki pumping his fist thinking that the game was over before the 1B ump said Molina didn't swing
  7. I know. I was just thinking about how for the first time in awhile I could relax and just enjoy the playoffs without having to worry about one team not winning at all costs. I was really looking forward to a relaxing enjoyable Giants-Nats NLCS.
  8. The Cardinals have had 6 consecutive at bats where they were down to their last out of the season and managed to keep their season alive.
  9. I don't know why I ever gave myself hope that the Cardinals would actually lose
  10. Sweet, Cardinals in the NLCS. FML
  11. JUST ONE MORE STRIKE
  12. Did anyone expect anything different?
  13. Yup, sounds about right
  14. [expletive]. Of course the tying runs are in scoring position now. How many consecutive ABs, dating back to last year, have the Cardinals been down to their last strike of the season and extended the season by getting on base?
  15. Its like they said 'ok we've given them enough runs, lets start our comeback now'
  16. [expletive] hell
  17. When the Nats were up 6-0 I briefly thought about how this board would react if the Cardinals came back to win. I was certain that there would still be some very tense moments in this game.
  18. Here we go again. They won't [expletive] die.
  19. Why do I get the feeling that the Orioles are about to give up 2 runs to lose the series?

    NFL Week 6

Not to take anything away from the Titans because they played a good game, but I don't think the Steelers are all that good this year.
  21. It's more about liking the As than hating Detroit. That said while the Tigers are the Detroit team I'm most indifferent about, it's still a Detroit team and I have to remind myself these are also Lions, Wings and Pistons fans.
  22. So I'm thinking about this whole "playoffs are a crapshoot" theory. If the Cardinals win today or tomorrow they will be 7-1 in their last 8 playoff series with teams that finished a combined 352-296 (which is average record of 88-74). Does this help prove the playoffs are a crapshoot theory or disprove it? Are the Cardinals just on an incredibly lucky streak or have they somehow discovered (accidentally or not) a formula to win consistently in the playoffs?
  23. I suspected we'd see a team come back from down 0-2 in this year's LDS because of the 2-3 format, but I definitely didn't expect it a team that lost their first 2 games at home and then won 3 on the road.
