  1. Cubs have won their 2nd 3+ game series in their last 14 series. Now 2-12-0. Woo hoo
  2. So the Cubs have scored their 3 runs today on 3 plays where 4 total outs were recorded. Sounds about right lol
  3. Even when our hapless catcher gets an RBI hit he still commits an out
  4. Oh…ok then
  5. I think that’s what they want. They’re trying to keep their pick that is tied to the Spurs next year. But just speculating, no one really has any clue what the Bulls are trying to do except stay under the luxury tax. 9 years since they were last relevant and they may be starting off another rebuild. What a franchise
  6. Meh, wasn’t expecting much. It was reported that the Bulls didn’t want to take on any contracts, so even accepting Duarte surprises me. Cash Considerations is back though!
  7. Hendricks put everything he had left into making it to 10/5 rights
  8. England have played very meh this whole tournament and here they are in the semis with probably the easier SF draw
  9. So obnoxious that they go straight to PKs after regulation at Copa. Last night and tonight kept getting excited for an extra 30 minutes only to realize it’s time for PKs
  10. Hell yeah Steele. Shota was pretty much locked into the Cubs all star spot for awhile but looks like Steele, 1 win and all, has stolen the spot
  11. Thought I read somewhere that it was like 50/50 to even put him on the IL vs letting him pitch through it so I suppose it doesn’t surprise me the stay might be minimum. note: I could be mixing this with one of the other 500 pitching injuries we have
  12. Believe it was the first week of the season edit: April 16, a game we lost 12-11 against the Diamondbacks after Alzolay blew it with 2 outs in the 9th. the only other time they scored double digits was a 12-2 win over Colorado in their 2nd home game of the season
  13. My stat about them only scoring 8+ runs in 2 of their last 61 games lit a fire under them.
  14. Cubs now 6 games out of a playoff and in last place by 2.5 games. Good times. 22-39 since April 27th, playing at a 58-104 pace for 38% of the season. 15-31 since May 13th, playing at a 53-109 pace for 29% of the season. The Cubs have scored 8+ runs in 2 of their last 61 games
  15. Have the Cubs considered maybe not losing every game?
  16. It’s fun to track all the streaks within the streaks. This loss would be 8 of their last 10
  17. Is it possible that the Cubs actually don’t win the World Series this year?
  18. Yet another Chicago team has failed to do the bare minimum of letting their fans feel some small amount of joy. The Bulls gave me 0 enjoyment, the Hawks gave me 0 enjoyment once the initial excitement of getting Bedard wore off and we realized they were terrible, the entire Bears season was a referendum on Fields and Eberflus after it became clear 3 weeks into the season that they weren’t gonna be good. Now the Cubs battle the Rockies and Marlins (both of whom have more recent NLDS appearances than the Cubs, having both beaten the Cubs to get there) for worst team in the NL. And not that we care but the white Sox are the worst team in baseball. Yikes
  19. Regardless of pay to play and all that crap, one thing that struck me last night was they showed a graphic showing our respective country populations. USA - 340m, Uruguay - 3.4m. We literally have 100x more people in the US and cant put together a team on the same level. Not sure how much this adds to the discussion, but it was jarring to me.
  20. The US scored as many goals in this tournament as Panama and Uruguay both did against Bolivia alone (actually Uruguay had more). ] First time the US has hosted a tournament and failed to make it to the knockouts. First Copa host ever to not advance to knockouts. Great stuff.
  21. This is embarrassing. There is absolutely no excuse for not advancing from this particular group. Sadly it’s not the most embarrassing thing to happen to America today but that’s a different conversation.
  22. I am completely dumbfounded about the refereeing. If anyone isn’t watching the game and trying to visualize what we mean by bad refereeing, trust me it’s worse than whatever you are visualizing.
  23. Can't believe they missed on that breakaway at the end. Waited a fraction too long to get the shot off. Pretty damn exciting game though all around.
  24. Yes, 1-0 while Panama beats Bolivia 3-0.
  25. Ronaldo really showing his age out there. And just missed a PK in ET.
