  1. If they played .500 ball the rest of the year (29-29), they'd still finish 56-106. They'd have to go 36-22 the rest of the season to avoid losing 100 games..
  2. Theyve actually scored 9 runs. I presume that changes everything about how you view the last 6 games.
  3. Don't forget the key point which is that the Cubs complete inability to either put runs on the board or hold leads with our pen leads to little things not going our way making such a dramatic difference in us winning or losing. If the Cubs went out and scored 8 runs today during a Brewers bullpen game none of that matters nearly as much.
  4. Has there been any indication that Happ would waive his NTC? From what I've read he has that NTC in his contract for a reason and doesn't want to go anywhere. Until I hear otherwise, I'm taking any Ian Happ rumors with a giant grain of salt.
  5. Absolutely asinine that Taillon gets the loss today in a game where he pitched 7.1 dominating innings, allowing a single earned run that wasn’t even scored while he was in the game. Not that W/L matters but completely unfair to him. What a disaster of a season.
  6. PCA is just so overmatched right now. I’m sure TT will have some logical explanation but not sure why Amaya was PH for instead of PCA
  7. Why in Gods name is Miles Mastrobuoni pinch hitting in a 1 run game in the 9th inning?
  8. Yet another phenomenal start by a Cubs pitcher that is one swing away from being wasted because Jed’s vaunted offense blows
  9. I know that was a ball and he absolutely should not have swung but ultimately another strikeout looking with RISP for Seiya. Not his fault this time though. That said while he was hitting I was wondering if pitchers actually dont mind getting behind in the count when facing Seiya in run producing spots. Get him thinking walk and he gets more passive and you might end up catching him looking.
  10. Nothing like swinging at a 3-0 count and hitting a weak ass pop up. dont mind it with no one on and 2 outs in a scoreless game but horsefeathers result
  11. Is he even going to play in the HOF game? Being an extra preseason game, I think many teams don't even play their starters at all. But since Caleb is a rookie and the Hard Knocks hype, maybe he'll play a series.
  12. All I was doing was pointing out that there was a clear difference in play between the first half and the second half of his season, not whether he deserves a new contract. I remember Packers fans monitoring draft boards near midseason because they were looking to replace Love. But clearly in the 2nd half of the season he proved he is the QB of the future (and present) in GB so Love has some firm ground to stand on when asking for a new deal.
  13. The Cubs have turned me into freaking Derwood 😩
  14. In his first 9 games he threw for 2009 yards, 14 TD, 10 INT, 6.7 Y/A, 80.5 rating with a 58.7% comp% In his last 8 games he threw for 2150 yards, 18 TD, 1 INT, 7.7 Y/A, 112.7 rating with a 70.3% comp % The first half of the season he was worse than Mitchell Trubisky in Chicago, the second half of the season he was 2007 Tom Brady.
  15. Has anyone else noticed that Amaya is 10 for his last 18 (and 8 for his last 11) with 4 walks, 2 XBH, 3 RBI and only 2 K? I’m sure it’s been discussed here. Just a blip or is it too soon to write off his entire career? edit: on the flip side, PCA is 0-14 since his random 2 HR game that briefly brought his average over .200
  16. They did it. Only scored 7 runs in the 4 games since the all star break but are 2-2
  17. Here comes Neris. Can anyone remind me why he got the closer job back? Really haven’t been paying much attention sadly
  18. Heart of the order fails in a prime scoring opportunity again. note I just put the game on for the first time all night so if theyve been getting it done the rest of the game, disregard lol
  19. More evidence its an inside job if they knew about it beforehand.
  20. It’s really the 7 teams in front of them that is more concerning than then 3.5 GB, especially with the Cubs losing the tiebreaker with every single one
