  1. I'd hold off. I believe he's changed numbers at every stop in the minors, who knows what its going to be in Chicago.
  2. He was obviously holding them back from true greatness
  3. LOL @ 'playing spoiler' during the 2nd week of the season
  4. Gonna be interesting. Still think the Blues will take it despite the Avs holding the tiebreaker. Colorado has to play at San Jose and at Anaheim to finish the year. San Jose doesn't have much to play for except potential home ice in the WCF against the Blackhawks (both at 107 points), but they will probably only really rest their starters the last game of the season. Anaheim is a point ahead of STL/COL for top seed in the WC, and 3 points behind Boston for the President's Trophy, so its likely they will have something to play for. St. Louis has a game in Dallas, who is very close to clinching the last WC spot (2 points up with 2 to play and clinched the tiebreaker over Phoenix), and at home against Detroit who is playing for the WC1 spot over Columbus (tied with 2 left but Columbus clinched the tiebreaker)
  5. I would go 5/5 for the simple fact that one of our worst hitters managed to get on base to bring up the hitter with the highest BA on the team. Bonifacio actually is a crappy hitter, though. It's gonna be hard to go 5/5 because you need to have your really good hitters choke, and do we even have any of those? Multiple valid points. I rescind my star.
  6. My guess is because the bottom of the order sucks and he hits leadoff. Yeah I was going to make an unclutch joke, but then I looked up his splits and saw that only 7 of his 41 PA coming into the game were with runners in scoring position, and in those 7 PA he had 2 hits and a walk (and both of those RBIs).
  7. I would go 5/5 for the simple fact that one of our worst hitters managed to get on base to bring up the hitter with the highest BA on the team.
  8. How does Bonifacio hit .450 over a 50 PA stretch and only have 2 RBIs?
  9. Welp, 3-6 with 4 one run losses and a 2 run loss. 2-4 against the Pirates. All 4 losses by a run. Two of the losses in extra innings. In 2 of the losses we blew a late lead (once in the 7th and once in the 11th), in the other 2 losses, the go ahead scored in the 8th inning or later. Pirates are lucky ass bitches
  10. Glad we wasted a strike attempting to waste an out in that AB.
  11. We might go 2-4 against the Pirates, but could have easily won all 6.
  12. Well it was fun being excited about the Cubs for a couple of innings.
  13. Didn't they play close to .500 ball for a really long stretch between the Rizzo call up and the trades in 2012? From April 25 to July 28 last year, they were 42-41. They had a 19-10 stretch in July of 2012
  14. Yup was not expecting that. Probably not but does this maybe suggest McGary is coimng back? On UMHoops they were speculating that Michigan was going to have a logjam of bigs even if McGary returned.
  15. 14-18 before the trade, 32-18 after the trade.
  16. So lets look at how the playoffs can go for the Hawks Current: Blues 111 (3) @MIN, @DAL, DET Avs 109 (3) @VAN, @SJ, @ANA Hawks 107 (2) @WAS, @NAS Tiebreakers: Avs over Blues (46 ROW vs. 43 - Clinched) Avs over Hawks (46 ROW vs. 40 - Clinched) Blues over Hawks (43 ROW vs. 40 - Clinched) Scenario 1: Blues (1) vs. WC (4) Avs (2) vs. Hawks (3) Still the most likely scenario. The Blues need any combination of 3 points over Avs (either gaining points or the Avs losing points) to clinch division. Scenario 2: Avs (1) vs. WC (4) Blues (2) vs. Hawks (3) Scenario 3: Blues (1) vs. WC (4) Hawks (2) vs. Avs (3) The only way the Hawks can pass the Avs is by winning out and having the Avs lose their last 3 games, at least 2 of them in regulation. Not a very likely scenario
  17. Do we have a positive run differential yet?
  18. I wonder if Javy is being asked to work on something specific like adjusting his swing or being more selective. Then again it doesnt make sense to introduce him to a new level and then mess with things.
  19. Good we need more true villains in baseball. Baseball was a lot more enjoyable with all the disgraced steroid abusers, but most of them retired or the newer guys started outright admitting they did them when they got caught instead of adamantly denying it in the face of overwhelming evidence.
  20. Sophomore UMass Guard Derrick Gordon announces that he is gay and will be the first openly gay D1 Men's Basketball player. Glad the floodgates are starting to open. http://www.shermanreport.com/hopefully-one-day-this-wont-be-news-first-active-d-1-basketball-player-announces-he-is-gay/ Anyways, we're in offseason mode. Discuss draft declarations, recruiting and how bad Indiana is going to be next year here.
  21. Agreed. Plus the Duchene injury, although it doesn't seem to be hurting them all that much currently. That said, defenses get tighter in the playoffs, and the Avs will miss his offensive ability even more.
  22. That might be the best lineup we have, although I'd rather see Olty in there and probably Lake (I don't know if Morton is R or L and I don't care) Ew I guess that joke is dead
