    Hawks celebrate almost exactly 120 minutes of goalless hockey with a goal!!

    Is the ice quality really bad today? How many passes have we seen not fielded cleanly or just skip over the Hawks sticks?

    I know Miller is a much better goalie than Smith but this feels a lot like the Coyote series where we couldnt get anything going offensively and the times we do get something going, nothing is getting past the goalie.

    If you can't score, I don't recommend spending half of the next period on the PK.

    So 2 actual goals, 2 posts hit, and 2 breakaways for the Blues Hawks...um probably haven't caused Miller to break a sweat at all.

    And the Hawks are now 3 on 5...what a complete implosion

    If we don't pick it up and make this a series I guess the lesson is teams that look like a fringe playoff team for the entire second half of the season can't just hit a switch and turn it on when the playoffs start even if they are the defending champs. Or maybe it's just that if you are hoping the Hawks were just trying to get to the playoffs heathy and had an extra gear to use, they don't. But again it's only the 1st intermission of game 2, still time to turn it around. I'm just venting.

    How long did the Hawks go without scoring against the Bruins last year? I think the Hawks scored in the 1st period of game 2, lost in OT, then got shut out in game 3 and scored 5 minutes or so into game 4. We've gotta be approaching that right now.

    [expletive] this sucks. I'll take a Cup every 3 seasons if it means losing in the first round in the other 2 seasons but ugh anyways.

    And the Blues score with 0.8 seconds left in the period. [expletive] this game.

    Now 100 minutes without a goal for the Hawks despite 8 power plays during that time.

    And there's the first real scoring chance on a Hawks PP today. Of course it was a breakaway for the Blues and it injured two of our players but at least it was some action

    There was a power play? I didn't see anything to suggest the Hawks had an extra man on the ice.

    The blues defense is just too good. We can't get any good chances, even when we are on the PP

    52, by the 1903 Pirates. It's a long season, if we don't get it on this stretch we'll have more chances. '85 Astros went 42 for a more-recent mark. That's one to shoot for. Saw on twitter the 92 Cubs were the last team to go 4 straight games without scoring.

    I think the last time the Cubs went from Sunday to Friday in the regular season without scoring, Hurricane Ivan was involved.

    So 22 innings without a run for the Cubs. Hawks went about 85 minutes without a goal last night. Stupid my teams.

    You're not really counting the Hawks out after a 3 OT loss in game 1 on the road are you?

    Am I missing a bunch of tough Bears losses to the Rams or something? It was kind of annoying how close that 2012 game was, though. EDIT - For the record, I'm not coming in here to troll about hockey. I was actually watching this game. Maybe I should stop? Their win over us this year technically kept the Bears out of the playoffs?

    I don't even care. I'm used to being owned by all my rivals (Ohio St, Michi St, Cardinals, Packers) so I'm still riding high on beating the Wings last year even though it took an incredible comeback and an OT goal in game 7 against a vastly inferior team that allowed them to get some degree of pride from the series in order to do so.

    Rational side: Just game 1. It was on the road. Just need to steal 1 on the road. Played mediocre at best in regulation and were still 1:45 from winning. Emotional side: team just doesn't have the same feel to it as last year and hasn't all year. Defense [expletive] blows which is the problem we had the year after the last cup run. 7-16 in OT now
