  1. Ricky R. is just as good at managing a bullpen as Sveum and Quade.
  2. 5-4 with 2 outs, runners on 1st and 3rd, Russell coming in (wow)
  3. It hit 2B bag and bounced to right field. Of course it did. Wrigley's 100th birthday present to the fans!
  4. So... Week 1 vs Bills (almost certainly Noon CBS) Week 2 at 49ers (probably 3:05 FOX) Week 14 vs Cowboys (Thursday night) Week 15 vs. Saints (Monday night)
  5. I've learned over the years that 10+ pitch ABs against the Cubs always end badly for us. edit: except this one
  6. your closer has to close dude. you bring him in and its his game to win or lose. also, catchers hit 8th and second basemen hit 2nd -dusty baker
  7. How many games over the last few years have we cruised along right up until the 9th inning where we suddenly implode?
  8. I liked how we did the last time we opened up an opponents stadium against a power house. (09 at Indy)
  9. Agreed. I kind of enjoyed the confidence boost of beating a good team to start the year.
  10. Yay DePaul got themselves a 4 star recruit, #103 nationally. Maybe they'll win 5 Big East games next year.
  11. Bernstein was talking about how a fan overheard Nene walking into the tunnel after the game shouting "Tell them to get some real players"
  12. I'm kind of surprised that the Ricketts didn't get booed.
  13. http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/04/23/the-cubs-will-have-to-jump-through-more-hoops-to-provide-free-parking/ Like Brett said, this is a relatively minor issue, but just another example of the Cubs having to jump through hurdles to do anything in this city. I really wish Ricketts and co at least put some sort of threat out there of moving out of the city, as maybe then we could have some leverage to get things done.
  14. http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2014/story/_/id/10827330/2014-nba-playoffs-frank-vogel-indiana-pacers-coaching-job I don't really like Frank Vogel but I hate when stuff like this happens. When a coach exceeds all expectations with his coaching performance, then the expectations change and he fails to improve upon the new expectations and is fired. I understand there's more at play here with the second half slide, the locker room issues, etc., but I think its silly for him to be coaching for his job at this point given the success hes had the last few seasons.
  15. Can someone describe the game situation when this jump ball happened? And Hinrich missing FTs?
  16. Glad I went to bed in the 3rd quarter so I don't feel the sting of this one. Sucks were probably going to be swept.
  17. Crazy that every game in that series was decided by 1 goal. This one too except for the empty netter.
  18. Geez this is crazy: 11 runs on 1 hit, damn Box score: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KC1/KC1195904220.shtml
  19. Hmm, that does look fairly similar to Seabrook's hit, except for in this situation Keith was playing the puck and Ott probably didn't leave his feat at all, however he did have an upward trajectory towards his head and led with a forearm.
  20. Hawks up 3-0! Oh wait down 2-1. Oh well let's win Wednesday and take the momentum back to STL
  21. Why does it feel like we've been killing off a PP all period
  22. I really don't want to deal with OT again. Come on Hawks
  23. 1-14 on the PP once this stupid pp is over.
