  1. Rizzo homered and Castro walked. I'm satisfied
  2. Jesus just make him an injury replacement the next time an AL pitcher goes down. I'm pretty sure that's what they did with Carlos Beltran in 2004.
  3. hahaha i was just about to post (thanks sharma) this hilarious twitter feed
  4. cliffs? Kyle posted a long opinion on Castro getting traded, basically the same stuff he's been posting here the last couple of days explaining why it's probably not going to happen and the mets fans praised him for being a smart fan and asked him to stick around.
  5. Kyle I think you finally found a board where they love you for [expletive] on the popular opinion
  6. We don't need young talented pitchers, we have Chris Bosio
  7. I love how the media woke up today and realized "wait the bulls fans are losing interest, we need to rope them back into this"
  8. or they aren't putting their offseasons on hold to wait for Carmelo's decision.
  9. Seriously, WGN/CSN should have live look ins every time one of the Cubs top 10 prospects comes up to bat during their broadcasts. Or maybe they should just broadcast Iowa and Tennessee games with live look ins every time Rizzo and Castro come up or Arrieta is on the mound.
  10. Sorry to break it to you, the game is tomorrow.
  11. Good news, the Tigers and their fans will be helping us!
  12. Along with Anthony Rendon and Justin Upton. EDIT: And Casey McGehee and Justin Morneau. So does he have a shot?
  13. Peggy: You never add pitching Don: THATS WHAT THE MONEYS FOR!
  14. So according to Gammons, when the trade was completed, Beane said to Theo "you just got Barry Larkin"
  15. Is Vizcainos ceiling not that high anymore? Has he disappointed since returning or is it a combo of the system around him getting much better and the length of time it's taken him to get back from injuries?
  16. Alfonso Soriano DFAd by the Yankees as well. Can't believe we got legit interesting prospects for him.
  17. Watching that video alone I don't hear anything that Shark said that was a shot at the Cubs or that was at all surprising. There have been rumors that Shark has wanted out for a couple of years. I pretty much expected that Shark was excited to go out and pitch for a contender. I don't think it means he hated the Cubs or didn't understand what the Cubs were trying to do or anything.
  18. I'm guessing the same reason you don't argue balls and strikes in baseball. It's tradition. There is a rough system to it and people are used to they way it works. Pre-1990ish, they wouldn't even alert teams how much extra time they were getting. They just kept playing until the whistle sounded whether it was 1 minute or 5 mins.
  19. Not to be nitpicky but Clayton Kershaw would like a word with you.
  20. Would Costa Rica be the most improbable semi finalist in modern World Cup history?
  21. You might see Russell in there at some point. Not the Russell we want to see though.
  22. I understand how good Russell is and I've not said a bad thing about that portion of the deal. But Shark is a legit TOR pitcher and he has fewer innings on his arm than pretty much any 29 year old stud you're going to find. We got a great talent, but we gave up a great talent too and the 2nd and 3rd pieces are intriguing, but questionable. Not a bad deal by any stretch, but I'm not sure it's exciting either. I think you are overvaluing shark a bit. He's not prime Roy Halladay and he's only under control for 18 months. Although he has been unlucky the last 2 seasons overall he's pitched more like a solid #2 or 3 pitcher. This year he started out great but has faded a bit despite his season numbers looking great. He's a very good sometimes great pitcher. Getting a top 5 prospect, a top 100 prospect and a lottery ticket/worse case serviceable starter is more than fair value for shark and Hammel. If the cubs were contending this year I'd be pissed if the Cubs traded Bryant, Almora and Travis Wood for Shark and Hammel.
  23. Disappointed to find out Russell is not in the Futures game.
