  1. Kyle and his overconfidence. Ugh
  2. Kane is starting to get frisky out there. Typically something good happens shortly after he gets this way
  3. Man the NBA playoff schedules are so weird. Both series have 3 full days off between Games 2 and 3, meaning that there will be no NBA basketball on Thursday or Friday for some reason. I get that the weekend games have higher ratings but this keeps killing all momentum for casual fans.
  4. Hope you spit on it beforehand. And kept an eye on his wandering left hand I'm pretty sure Todd snuck up from behind while you were chatting and swiped your wallet.
  5. Why are you so wrapped up in this wins for Samardzija [expletive]? I would die happy if I never heard a reference to pitcher W-L ever again. I don't know. I hate W-L as a stat too, but this fascinates me. At the very least, the more attention this gets, the most people realize how stupid and flawed W-L is. Plus there will certainly be some article somewhere talking about how their local team shouldn't trade for Shark because he's not a winner.
  6. 1: @ PIT, 7 IP 0 ER, leaves tied 0-0, Cubs lose in 10th inning 1-0 2: v PHI, 7 IP 2 ER, leaves down 2-0, Cubs lose 2-0 3: @ STL, 7 IP, 1 ER, leaves up 3-1, Cubs blow 9th inning lead but win 6-3 4: v CIN, 7 IP 1 ER, leaves down 3-1, Cubs lose 4-1 5: v ARI, 7.1 IP 2 ER, leaves up 5-2, Cubs give up 5 in the 9th and lose 7-5 6: @ CIN, 5.2 3 ER, leaves down 3-2, Cubs lose 3-2 7: v CWS, 9 IP 0 ER, leaves tied 1-1, Cubs lose 2-1 in 12 8: @ ATL, 6 IP 0 ER, leaves tied 0-0, Cubs lose 2-0 9: v MIL, 5 IP 2 ER, leaves down 4-3, Cubs lose 4-3 10: v NYY, 7 IP 0 ER, leaves up 2-0, Cubs tied 2-2 In 6 of his 10 starts he's left the game tied or in the lead. The Cubs have gone 1-5 in those games, with the 1 win coming after they blew a multiple run lead in the 9th. In Sharks 10 starts, he has pitched all but 24 innings in those games. In those 24 innings he has NOT pitched, the Cubs offense has scored 3 runs, all in 1 inning.
  7. Why are the Cubs and Cardinals the only 2 NL Central teams with positive run differentials? Why do the Cubs lead the NL Central in runs scored? I am never going to ESPN's standings page again, that was scary.
  8. Dammit I wish we had a chance to win this series but stupid Shark is on the mound.
  9. My wife doesn't think Sharp is hot and that disturbs me on a deep personal level.
  10. Playing in GB, i'd be more worried about meth if I were him
  11. As a Hawks fan I'm not worried about not scoring on hot goalies. Unless their name is Mike Smith.
  12. I still think its more likely than not he says. What bothers me is that there is a non-zero chance he could leave and unless we got blown over with a return, I don't understand why it had to come to this.
  13. Don't know if it was on purpose or not, but nice timing posting this right as our one blue player was being extended. Forte has to be one of the most underrated players in the league if he is considered only a "good starter". They only have the charts out for 6 teams, but on the Bills they consider Spiller "high quality" and Fred Jackson a "good starter". In what world are Fred Jackson and Matt Forte on the same tier?? As they pointed out in the article, the tipping point from high quality to good starter for Forte was his league worse pass protection rating.
  14. If it wasn't already clear, its pretty obvious from the Bulls/Thibs silence and all the new rumors that keep coming up that Thibs is very much available. This would really suck.
  15. Just make a sign with a picture of Shark and under it, it says "0-4 1.62 ERA. This could have been you!"
  16. Plus the other shitty thing is that the kings have come off 2 straight grueling 7 game series with only one day off between each. This schedule allows the ample time to rest and alleviates any potential fatigue factor in the series.
  17. Dammit to hell. I've been in Europe all this week and because of godawful start times I haven't been able to watch the last 3 games and won't be able to watch game 1. I finally get back to Chicago and only get 1 game in my first 5 nights back. Well done [expletive].
  18. Buck up boys. At least we are the best at something (losing)
  19. It's not that they dislike him, it's just that he's so [expletive] easy to tackle. True stat: Matt Forte was tackled or went out of bounds in all but 9 of his carries last season.
  20. It's like a bad SNL sketch. I know, when the Hawks and Bruins were matched up last year, my friends in Boston kept saying their anthem is better, and when I laughed they said 'just watch'. Well I watched, and then I broke out into fits of laughter. WTF is that [expletive]?
  21. Game 1 will be on 2pm Sunday in either Chicago or Anaheim.
  22. It's fun to be hated. Because it means you are really good.
  23. Also Raisin, we need you to be in the ears of every socal hockey fan you know trying to convince them that starting a Crawford chant in the next round is a great idea.
