  1. Seems that it featured an extended rain delay, but the box doesn't mention it. Probably thinking of a different game. I believe the delay was to start the game. I remember waiting for a long time for the game to start, then giving up and going to sleep and waking up the next day to find out that not only was the game played, but the Cubs scored 26 runs.
  2. Huh? They knew this team would probably be bad and knew attendance would suffer as a result. They aren't going to be shocked when Wrigley is half empty and they aren't going to change their gameplan. You can bitch all you want about how shitty the team is and talk about how apathetic the fans are and nothing is going to change their timeframe for success.
  3. Please go on long playoff runs Bulls and Hawks
  4. That's odd. This team is more interesting to me than those. It isn't to me. Everything interesting about the 2014 Cubs, save Rizzo and Castro, is in Iowa right now. Kind of interested in some players at bigs but I'm happy just looking at the box scores.
  5. Yeah it feels like mid august in terms of level of interest.
  6. Aldon Smith anyone?
  7. Per twitter, game 1 will be Sunday at 6pm
  8. I only watched an inning during lunch but he looked pretty damn good. Good for him. So what streak ends tonight: Not swept in any series, or losing every series?
  9. Wait, who was the 4th besides the members of Run TMC? I dont know maybe he's including Chris Weber with them even though he didn't play with Richmond.
  10. Tonight is the last night of the regular season so here are the playoff scenarios still at play for the Bulls: Bulls vs. Charlotte Toronto vs. NY Knicks Brooklyn vs. Cleveland Washington vs. Boston 3 Bulls vs. 6 Wizards -Bulls win -Toronto loss -Brooklyn win 3 Bulls vs. 6 Nets -Bulls win -Toronto loss -Brooklyn loss -Washington win 4 Bulls vs. 5 Nets -Bulls loss OR Toronto win -Brooklyn win OR Washington loss 4 Bulls vs. 5 Wizards -Bulls loss OR Toronto win -Brooklyn loss -Washington win Charlotte can still be the 6 seed, but since they are playing Chicago tonight and need a win, the Bulls can't match up with the Bobcats
  11. You actually think the Nets are purposely losing to avoid the Bulls? I don't know their motivations for anything but "tanking for the 6 seed" was a story today. Turns out they played their guys tonight and lost anyway, but the story was they were gonna shut down 6 guys for their last two games. If that had actually been the case wouldn't you also surmise they were comfortable slipping to the 6 seed? Yes but I suspect that was as much trying to match up with Miami (4-0 this year) as it is avoiding Chicago Maybe, but they were 1-2 vs Chicago this year and were knocked out of the playoffs by the Bulls last year. Yeah that's why I said as much. I definitely think they would prefer to avoid us.

  13. I was going to jokingly call you a Wings homer, but then I remembered you guys hate(d) the Blues too If I was a Homer I would have Detroit up there:). St Louis has been terrible lately, makes me think that they may turn it on in the playoffs. Especially facing the Hawks. But the Hawks are probably the leagues most talented team. IDK, I have pondered on this series for a couple of days and may amend my pick later. I go back and forth. Hawks probably have the more talented team and has proven it can win in the playoffs and also important and score on any defense and goalie. St. Louis has a long proud history of playoff chokes. But the Hawks have looked sluggish during large stretches this year and have played a lot of games the last 15 months. You'd expect them to turn it on for the playoffs but what if they can't? I think the Hawks will win but I'm much less confident than I was in the first round last year obviously.
  14. Haha wow awesome:
  15. On the broadcast yesterday they said Game 1 would be either Saturday or Sunday. They helps you narrow it down a little at least.

  17. Come on Mitch, you know you want to stay.
  18. What's the point? You're just going to be filling it up with 15,000 St. Louisans the next night anyways.
  19. Appears based on the practice lines that Morin won't be playing
  20. Looks like a doubleheader on Wednesday then. Cubs are off Thursday but the Yankees have a game in Tampa. Cubs go to NY to play the Mets in August but no off days surround that trip.
  21. Apparently the Preds didn't play the National Anthem before Saturday's game so Hawks fans wouldn't be too loud: http://sportsmockery.com/nashville-decided-sing-national-anthem-28246/
  22. Stauskas, I want Stauskas Even putting aside my homer bias that would be awesome. He should be around for one if not both of our picks.
  23. Interesting. They signed Greg Smith instead
  24. Not surprised. Sucks but not surprised
  25. Yup first time in history.
