  1. I’m sorry you cannot convince me that the fail mary didn’t tank the season. I know we didn’t look good in much of that Washington game but we battled. This team has looked like a complete mess since that play.
  2. Sweet our only healthy good OL hurt
  3. Caleb waited too long to throw to Moore and then threw a terrible pass. Unreal
  4. I can’t believe this team is going to be playing the equivalent of a 12-5 team on average for the rest of the season.
  5. 3 possessions, all made it to Patriots territory. 3 punts
  6. Great decision Waldron. Those Moore screens have worked all year long /s
  7. You’re broke now. Actually I was thinking the same thing but they went with an easy completion for 3 yards
  8. Caleb Williams is noticeably worse now than he was a month ago. Looks less confident and in control, seems to be hesitating to throw the ball, lack of awareness in the pocket, etc. These were not things he was doing earlier in the year.
  9. And another terrible punt by Taylor. 2024 draft looking like a disaster outside of Booker (yes overreacting on Caleb since I still believe in him but it wouldn’t be unfair to call him the 3rd or 4th best QB in the draft so far)
  10. And Caleb costs us 3 points again with poor awareness. Did this against the Commanders too. Unacceptable
  11. I don’t think “even the Panthers” means much anymore since they have 1 less win than the Bears
  12. Tory Taylor was such an arrogant pick for a team that has had 1 winning season in the past 12 seasons
  13. Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Soto. How many MVP candidates in their prime do you need on your roster?
  14. Jed has gone to Japan multiple times this year I believe. Hopefully he did more then fill up on sake bombs and built a relationship with Sasaki.
  15. Combined record of the teams that make up those 11 wins: 54-100. Combined losses where the Bears had a 90+% win probability in the 4th quarter: 3 (and another one the week before that 11-11 stretch started 😩) I know none of these really address your point, I just needed to add those statistics.
  16. If this is true the Bears are so hopelessly broken
  17. Why is it that no matter who the Bears hire to run the offense and no matter who the players are on the field, we are always hearing stories about how broken and poorly planned the offense is? I suppose its possible that anyone who breaks down film can find things to criticize if they look hard enough and want to tell a certain narrative, especially when the offense isn't producing. But horsefeathers its like we can never just get out of our own way. I would take "hey this offense looks average and here are some things they could do to improve it" but its always something like "wow look at how stupidly the Bears are constructing their offense, they have a TE running go routes and their top WR is just running 5 yards down the field and then spinning around in circles until they get dizzy and fall over"
  18. I'm not saying we'll for sure win many of the games on our gauntlet, but I'm not going to just assume we lose every game. Not that Eberflus has a great track record of beating good teams but he did beat the Lions last year, almost beat them twice, almost beat the Vikings twice, beat SF (albeit in a Monsoon) in 2022. If the defense gets healthy (a big if at this point I know) and Caleb and the offense get in sync, I don't see why we can't improve. That said things could just continue to go downhill, especially if we don't win or play particularly well this week and the bad vibes continue. Overall though, while things are pretty glum I'm not completely giving up on this season yet.
  19. Ahh I hate this even if there's logic behind it. Been obviously following him as the one hopeful piece of the Darvish for teenagers trade. Would hate to turn around and trade him right before he gets to the majors.
  20. What is going on with our pecs this season? Also it looks like the Bears are already saying Brisker will be out this week. At this point we can't count on him to play at all the rest of the season, though obviously its still a possibility.
  21. The Cubs offense was so dynamic and consistent last year that it makes sense that they won't do much offensively /s Time to look at GM replacements for next offseason.
  22. To further emphasize how tough the Bears remaining SOS is, here is how it looks currently. After this week that number for the Bears will jump up to .687 (or whatever it looks like after the Bears remaining opponents play their games this week). No one is even close to us
  23. Yep, this is college basketball...you aren't going to screw your season over if you have a tough non-conference schedule and take some bumps especially considering things like Q1 wins are much much more impactful than Q1 losses are bad. If you schedule 9 Q1 games during non-conference and go 3-6, thats 3 Q1 wins! Michigan made tourney 3 seasons ago with a 17-14 overall record because they had the number 2 SOS in the country and were 7-11 in Q1 games. Heck they didn't even have to play in Dayton.
  24. The season is falling apart but we still need a game thread to talk about it right? Bears are playing their first home game and their first noon game in 35 days and things have changed quite a bit since we last played at Soldier Field. The Bears still have an 8 game home winning streak with their last loss being almost 13 months ago (10/15/23 against the Vikings). But the combined record of the teams they played during that streak is 41-69, with the 12-5 Lions from last year being the only team with a winning record that we've beat. As everyone knows, this is the last easy game before the gauntlet that will last the rest of the season. The Bears remaining opponents after this game have a combined record of 46-21 (after counting the division opponents twice), and that doesn't even account for the fact that the 49ers are 4-4 but have largely been injury riddled and are getting many of their best guys back. So the average Bears opponent the rest of the season is roughly the equivalent of a 12-5 team (.687 winning percentage). The Bears are probably screwed either way but if they want any hope of stopping the avalanche of negativity thats building up this game is an absolute must win. Bears are 6 point favorites Oh and
