  1. My read on this is that the Cubs are going to be heavy favorites until the price goes over $200m then they will quickly snatch up someone like Cueto at a relative bargain. My hope is that an iffy postseason keeps the offers down just enough for the Cubs to get him.
  2. That was a fun game
  3. Yeah, that was incredible. That was one of my favorite games ever and I'm not even an Illini fan
  4. The last time Rose faced OKC before tonight (12/6/2010), his good friend Russ Westbrook was trying to make his first all star team while Rose was enroute to winning the MVP.
  5. Definiterly Trey Burke against Kansas (sorry snood). Just a ridiculous shot to cap a ridiculous late game comeback against a blue blood program in the Sweet 16. For my Chicago teams: Cubs: Schwarber's HR in the Wild Card game. It was at that moment I knew for certain that the Cubs weren't going to 2008 their way through a brief playoff run. Bears: Gould's GW field goal against the Seahawks in the 2006 divisional game Blackhawks: Seabrooks goal in OT of Game 7 against the Wings. There have been bigger goals and bigger games, but this one felt so damn good. Bulls: Jo's steal and dunk over Pierce in 3OT of game 6 against the Celtics in 2009. Just an awesome all around play in a critical moment
  6. Civil suit announced in 3....2....1...
  7. what a stupid loss I'm very blase on the hawks right now, so I'm not going to get all that upset about a stupid loss. Plus you get three rings in a few years and you lose any right to bitch about stupid regular season losses. But that was stupid. Agreed. It's the most annoyed I can possibly get about a loss in November coming off 3 championships in 6 years with 2 of their top 4 players not playing.
  8. Man we really needed that other point when you have a 5-2 lead at home. Terrible
  9. Interesting. That's promising then.
  10. My question is what is the long term plan for the Bulls? I'm pretty sure this roster is getting overhauled over the next 2 years assuming we don't win a title this year. After this season you lose 13.4m from Noah, 2.8m from Hinrich, 2.2m from Brooks, and 1.1m from Moore. Moore is the only one I think is possible to come back from that group. Also, Pau has a 7.7m option for next year...he may pick it up if he doesn't think he can get more than that in FA, or he might opt out regardless for a chance to join a Spurs/Cavs/Clippers team at a much lower salary. Plus the cap explodes so we should have some ability to build a more "Hoiball" style team. I hold out hope for the Bulls, and if things click they can definitely contend in the east, and my opinion isn't influenced much by the preseason and first 5 games (an opinion I had for awhile), but I don't think this team has enough shooters to compliment Hoiberg's offense (which admittedly I know only in extremely basic form) which will ultimately be its downfall. I had more to add here but I have to go back to work.
  11. This. Especially one with a new coach and offensive system while one of their best players attempts to play with double vision.
  12. Or worse, they'll win 95 games when the Mets take a step back and the rest of their division fights to break 70 wins. And then they'll blow a lead in the playoffs again and it will be glorious. Eliminating Dusty in the playoffs just became a new dream of mine. Being eliminated by Dusty in the playoffs just became a trigger to become a homicidal maniac. If we weren't good I'd hate this because it would increase the chances of the Cardinals beating the Nationals in the playoffs. But since we're good I know we can take out either team with one hand behind our backs.
  13. Did anyone pick up their free Wrigley sod today? [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. I read some story about a tourist visiting from Pittsburgh wanted to take a picture in front of the marquee a few hours ago and walked around the ballpark twice looking for it before realizing it was taken down.
  15. There still has to be a backup. Don't they have that fast guy who used to play for ATL? Yeah Jacquizz Rodgers is still on the roster I believe.
  16. What is the point of Montee Ball. Let's let Langford take 80% of the carries and see where it goes.
  17. Next year that trophy will be ours
  18. I know I should be used to it by now but it still looks really strange that a team who has been doormats since I was old enough to understand what was going on until last year is the World Series champion. It seems fake.
  19. If only the Mets had Chris Denorfia they might have ended this before KC went off.
  20. Haha reading Twitter when I saw a Mets fan say "how could the entire offense just not show up for a series?" I hear ya bro.
  21. When is the last time the Packers have been held to 137 yards or less in a game? Or Aaron Rodgers have less than 100 yards passing in a game he completed? Broncos D is legit
  22. Cutler is the only reason they aren't 0-7 Well yeah there was pretty much nothing bad you could say about Cutler's performance today. Almost nothing bad you could say about it in Detroit game. One bad int in the GB game but other than that he kept them in it. He's finished 5 games this year and has been pretty damn good in all 5.
  23. Haha Bill Simmons tried to say some weird [expletive] that was loosely blaming Cutler for the loss, and something about the Bears having bad juju and got roasted for it on Twitter
