  1. Maybe Herrera should get an AB. I don't care if he's not on the roster. The mets will be ok with it
  2. 3 run double. Oh wait no another 110 mph line drive to a met
  3. I'm not even going to make the "we're gonna strand the bases loaded with 0 outs aren't we?" Oops already did
  4. If we adopted the entire structure we'd be battling with the Binghamton Mets in AA instead of the New York Mets
  5. $0. It's really not as fun if you paid to make it happen. Plus they shouldn't need my money to win it. We have the talent, front office, infrastructure, etc to be a dominant force. We will win one. Maybe in 5 years we will be like "haha remember when we thought we'd be good for a long time with our young talent, just like 2003". But I doubt it
  6. Wow Maybe ski was right about the Cubs being in the wrong mindset. Ross certainly was there.
  7. I will not miss watching the Cubs line out right to Mets
  8. So wait, he gets hit but strikes out anyways because the umpire wrongly said he swung? We have played terrible but the umps haven't made it any better
  9. Can we at least get one farewell dong?
  10. Absolute poppycock. You really believe this is the best the Cubs can do? I mean... a lot of it is [expletive] luck and poor timing. But I also believe they're putting their heads down when the going's gone tough instead of saying '[expletive] this [expletive], we can do better.' Just look at the Royals this year and last. None of this is quantifiable, but I believe mindset is huge and does make a difference. Not the only thing that matters, mind you, but as bad as we've looked this series, you can't say this is the best we've got. God do you really believe this? Maddon is like the best manager in baseball at making sure the players are in the best mindset possible.
  11. I don't think anyone's forgetting that. I'm head over heels that we are playing baseball on October 21st.
  12. Assuming this game goes like we expect, the Cubs will have trailed at some point in 34 out of 36 innings in the series. Only innings we didn't trail at all were the 2nd and 5th innings yesterday
  13. Final tally for Hammel: 1.1 IP, 5 ER
  14. This would be the 6th 4-0 sweep in MLB history where the winning team does not trail the entire series.
  15. Does anyone else think Hammel was so pissed that he got traded 3 months after signing with the Cubs last year that he made it his mission to re-sign with the team and then sabotage their season with poor play?
  16. Nope. But we have finished an inning tied in 4 out of the 28 innings!
  17. It's just so frustrating that the Cubs gave up a 1st inning run in 7/8 NLDS and NLCS games. Hard to win a World Series when you trail in every single game
  18. Was anyone else hoping Soler didn't catch that? I'm terrible
  19. Yea, because one [expletive] pitcher would have turned this whole series around. It wouldn't have hurt? But that complaint went out the window when every single SP acquired except Happ and Price were not good. We were in talks for Ross but SD wanted the moon for him
  20. Why is it when the Cubs go to the playoffs, it always has to end with a comedy of errors and bad play?
  21. Well thanks for being a part of getting Russell and McKinney.
  22. I guess I didn't say "don't allow 4 runs"
  23. Was this part of the Red Sox script
  24. Small victories would be 1) don't allow a run in the first inning 2) get a lead off hitter on 3) get a lead, any lead!!
  25. Rookie of the Year was awesome
