  1. Also I might have missed the discussion in this thread but apparently the Bears were one of three teams that tried to trade up with the Browns for Connor Cook. The other 2 teams were the Raiders (who got him for their 4th and a 5th) and Cowboys. Once the Bears didn't get him, they decided to punt on QB in the draft and sign Hoyer.
  2. You qualify OG and OT as separate position groups? I don't think I've ever seen that, just OL. I'd say the LB group has to be the biggest strength. I can't really think of 2 other groups I would qualify as a strength. OL should be okay, but they are weak at tackle. WR may turn into a strength but I wouldn't qualify it so right now. Not with two brittle guys accounting for the entire group. I don't think TE matters enough to be considered a true weakness. They aren't great there but that position isn't going to lose them games. The RBs and DBs may be weak, but could be okay. This team is filled with "won't embarrass you" types. Good response. I grouped OG and OT separately because I just read an article that grouped them separate so it was stuck in my head, and like you said tackle is a weakness while I really like the guards.
  3. Looking at the 2016 Bears as currently looking, what position groups would you identify as the 3 biggest strengths and 3 biggest weaknesses? Strengths: OG ILB OLB HM: WR? Weaknesses: TE CB OT HM: RB? S?
  4. Can't tell if he's making an old man joke
  5. Heyward has a track record of not being horrible at hitting a baseball so I am sure eventually he will get it going but that doesn't mean I'm not frustrated
  6. Looking forward to seeing how we look this week against real teams. We actually haven't played a team this year that is currently over .500.
  7. Shitty weekend. No Cubs one day, loss to a horsefeathers team the next day. Oh well good to see the fight in the late innings. Now White Sox fans get to brag about being the first to 18 wins even though they've played 3 more games
  8. Yes and the cold weather reminds me that even when we are bashing baseballs throughout the summer, in the playoffs the cold will return and stifle offense (last year being the exception). Not that this puts a team like the Cubs at a disadvantage based on our offensive approach but it's just less sexy baseball it seems like april wrigley doesn't usually translate to fall wrigley for some reason... i could be completely wrong on this. I think but could be wrong that the wind tends to blow in more in the spring and out more in the fall.
  9. I really, really detest cold weather Wrigley. Even when the Cubs win there's an air of frigid, offense suppressing misery to the games. The wind has deprived us of many, many dongs thus far in 2016. Yes and the cold weather reminds me that even when we are bashing baseballs throughout the summer, in the playoffs the cold will return and stifle offense (last year being the exception). Not that this puts a team like the Cubs at a disadvantage based on our offensive approach but it's just less sexy baseball
  10. Meatbally question but why does it look like all our guys are trying to hit HRs
  11. This guy has owned him so far today. The second AB was ok as he worked the count but the results are 0-3 3K
  12. It's may, so id really like to see Heywards slugging percentage start climbing towards .300 now
  13. So wait does the run only not count if the DP outs are both force outs? Guess that makes sense but I'm watching on mute and was surprised to see the 3rd run was scored coming back from commercial. Oh well.
  14. Chill the hell out Lackey. Thankfully for him Javy isn't up next
  15. Come one, that can't be it. TLR and his band of unwritten rule douchebags wouldn't have even griped about that one
  16. Too many fly balls for these conditions

  19. Haha ESPN had their best writers give their team a thumbs up or down for their teams draft. 30 of the 32 beat guys said their teams draft was a thumbs up
  20. Fun stat I saw in a trib article:
  21. Can't remember where we were discussing the White Sox but this is a fun WSI read: http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=144732&page=2
  22. The Bears just signed Hoyer
