  1. Pirates down 3-0 in the 9th but have the bases loaded and 0 outs
  2. He was solidly above average last year without accounting for (elite) pitch framing even slightly. Really? His passed balls weren't as bad but I seem to remember a really long streak of not throwing out any base stealers
  3. I was just thinking how my expectations have changed for Heyward ABs. When the season started I was visualizing doubles and HRs when he came up. Now I'm hoping for a single or a walk. Not that he's not capable of a HR, it's just not among my visualized outcomes when he is up.
  4. Is Kazmir one of those pitchers that gets lit up his second and third time around the order?
  5. Yeah but I don't think there's any reason why they would feel compelled to start Kershaw on short rest. Likely if Maeda doesn't start they call up Urias to start.
  6. My only ask is that if they start this game, they are certain they can get 2+ straight hours in. I really don't want to see Jake throw 2 innings and have to leave because of a rain delay.
  7. please redirect me to something. I'm bored out of my mind at work. penthouseforum.com its work safe right?

  9. Was reading the Mets Refugee forum and saw this: Agree, the Cubs' board terribleness is just hard to put into words, other than the word dong. The first part is talking about some Nats forum. The Cubs board is obviously talking about NS(B)B
  10. LeBron trying to become the face of the NBA? Huh?
  11. And it pretty much goes back to the last two months of last season. Forgot about that The Cubs finished their last 63 games at 45-18 with a +83 RD. This year in our first 49 games we've gone 35-14 with a +133 RD So that means over our last 112 games we've gone 80-32 with a +217 RD. Looking back to 2003, when I stopped looking out of laziness, the highest single season RD was last years Blue Jays at +221. Again this is over a 162 game season, the 2015-2016 Cubs played 50 less games.
  12. Tomorrow is June 1st and the difference between the Cubs RD (+133) and the 2nd best team (Red Sox +76) is still a better RD (+57) than any other team besides those 2. One more stat is that the Cubs are underperforming their pythag by 4 games (39-10). That means they are playing a level of baseball that would project to a 128-34 season. It's just about June and they are still playing at this level.
  13. In addition to missing Kershaw in this series, the Cubs will miss Greinke (and of course Shelby Miller but that's probably a bad thing) in this weekend's series against AZ. But hey you want to talk about luck, the Phillies play the Cubs 6 times in 2 weeks and none of them will be started by Jake.
  14. So you like him, just not on the radio. What else is there? That one season he played for the Cubs? you can like people who suck at things and dislike people who are good he sucks at his job but he generally comes off as likeable in a goofy bumpkin kinda way. For me personally, his performance on the radio greatly dominates my impression of him because I do know know him in any other capacity. Any goofy bumpkin kind of vibe he gives off is overshadowed by being embarrassingly bad at talking on the radio.

  16. Regarding Contreras, the Cubs have a 3 game series in an AL park in both August (Oakland) and September (Houston..still feels weird to say that), so those might be good opportunities to bring him up and get him some big league ABs, especially the series in September after rosters expand.
  17. Don't worry. GSW will hit a 3 on this possession or next to end it
  18. With the win, the Cubs are back on pace for 116 wins
  19. Whoever was freaking out obviously didn't realize Butters was due up in the rotation
  20. Last 2 games against the Dodgers: 18 innings, 0 runs, 1 lost in the sun hit
  21. Javy was all of 31 days old when Informer was released. Crazy
  22. Travis has definitely been the better Wood in this one.
  23. 10 base runners in 5 innings, would hope for more than 2 runs but we have the lead so oh well
